  1. I think only South Australia sponsors System administrators but only if they have an Australian degree. Thats how it was a year ago anyway, maybe it has changed. I'm only interested in moving to QLD or NSW. QLD doesnt sponsor them and NSW doesnt sponsor anymore people until the new financial year. As for Rupert's answer: I am not looking to get experience to count for visa points. I only have 4 years of experience and ACS deducts at least 2 years of that. I just need the skills assessment to be positive, saying that I'm qualified to be a system engineer. I wont be able to claim experience points anyway.
  2. Hi guys, I currently have an ACS Skills assessment ongoing for "systems administrator". My plan was to get a visa through NSW with sponsorship but they have stopped sponsoring people for now and since I'm not sure if I can wait until july (if systems administrator would be on the NSW list again anyway) I am considering getting a new skills assessment done for "Systems Engineer" (263111). I know I have to wait until my first assessment is done before I can apply for this one. Can any of you tell me if I have a chance of getting a positive assessment back? This is the job description of the job that I did: - Installing, configuring, updating and maintaining server software/hardware - Developing scripts for deployment of configurations - helpdesk for customers - draft and maintain internal documentation - manage databases for accounting - manage and monitor LAN network services - high level problem troubleshooting - replacing failed hardware - install database and applications for customers - server monitoring for customers as preventive maintenace - monitor daily backup I have a bachelor degree in IT and had courses like network technology, computer architecture what do you guys reckon? Thanks
