  1. hey guys moving back to the UK soon, i will have around $25k to take back and am wondering the best way to do so? would an online bank account be advisable? i don't have an account over there anyway and wouldn't really like to send it all to an account anyway because of the fees and the terrible exchange rate at the moment. ideas thanks
  2. all the info i keep looking up is really out of date, from what i can gather the dog only needs a rabies jab up to 3 weeks before travel, Im looking for anyone who has sent dogs back to the uk as we have 3!! and obviosly price is an issue i am not that flush with cash!, please advise on best place to use thanks in advance
  3. ok no worries, mums email is lizzyannjohnson@hotmail.co.uk, you mum or dad can email if they like , yep i can meet you for a beer i will bring my bro to, i may not be for a few days as im driving back to bunde today from nsw lol so guna take a couple of days. I have always worked in construction in some way or another but i apply from anything work wise. talk soon
  4. If it was it wouldnt of been to bad, i was there during the floods and was actually evacuated from our home to a school away from the danger and stayed there for 4 night in the back of my ute haha. North was badly hit we were one of only a few houses not effected, town was hit pretty bad because there are parts of town that are low and alot of the shops were completely under. It was a scary thing but a freak event procedures were put in place after to try and prevent it happening again. As i say we are moving back over north and alot of new houses have ben build over north so i wouldn't worry to much. Aslo i have heard alot of rubbish about the event and i know because i lived through the whole thing. The flood didn't just appear, warning's were put out about 4-5 days before so being pro-active we did all we could in our home to protect our stuff. luckily our house didnt get flooded but the water got half way up out front drive i have alot of pictures of the whole thing. hope that helps. How old are you're mum and dad if you dont mind me asking? i could put them on to my parents if they like that way they can ask advice.
  5. oh thats great, it can sometimes seem a pain living with you're parents but you definitely will need each other. Kepnock is pretty nice its an older area of bunde thats about 9 , 10 mins drive to town. theres a school down that way to. My sister is 14 she will be going back to bunde north. Do you play any sport? i would suggest thats the best way to meet people as it can be hard. I have a group of people i can socialise with if i want and that makes a huge difference.
  6. Hi leeds how are you, yep you will be able to o that for sure. Town have at least 6 pub/taverns and about 4 that turn into clubs. Not clubs like you get in the uk but if thats you're scene they come pretty close. Theres also another club at bunde west, near sugarland shopping centre you can google that to see put in "bundaberg sugarland tavern". We have always lived over bunde north, about 6 min drive from town centre and i personally have never had any trouble getting into town or home on weekend nights. I dont go out all to often but do somtimes. To be honest you can live anywhere in bunde really and you will never be to far away from anything so thats a plus. Interested to know if you are moving over with family?
  7. Hi pomqueen sorry have been really busy today, yep theres loads to do for all ages, and can always feel safe as its a very nice close knit community feel the place has
  8. ok no worries, i will look into that tomorrow and sign up as i do want to help people, thanks
  9. night life is pretty good to be honest, alot of different people from all over the world as alot of backpackers come to bundy for picking jobs, as for the rum i wont comment anymore lol, you have said you dont like it, and you dont drink it so i really dont understand why you brought the subject up in the first place? strange. I brew my own alcohol to but not spirits.
  10. Well i will be honest i am not a rum drinker, but i love bundy rum and so do others as it is exported to hundreds of countries around the world, my nan buys it in England lol, the pre mix in a can is not so good has to be freshly made and even better using ginger ale
  11. Hi im 22(m) and moved to Aus in 2008 with family (mum, dad, brother, sister) and have lived all over the place lol. I am moving back to Bundaberg next week. If anyone is moving here and wants any information i will do my best to help, leave a post on here. Bunde is a nice little town that can take some getting used to, im from Portsmouth, south of England and the quite and laid back attitude take a while to adjust but it grows on you for sure. Work is slow depending off course what you are looking for but it is slow everywhere at the moment. So again feel free to ask anything and i will get back to you
