  1. I see requirements have changed since I did my RPL in 2014/2015. Back then ACS was deducting 8 years if the university was non-ICT.

To answer your question: if immigration will find your university degree equivalent to an AU degree then you'll get 15 points.

Same, if after you'll have enough years of experience closely related with the nominated position after the "deemed date" then you'll obtain 15 points.

Btw... pay attention to the content of your references from your past jobs. Should be quite similar with the ACS job description, otherwise could be seen as irelevant. Same with the name of the role.

  2. To be considered "skilled" you need a university degree with minor or major in ICT. A one year diploma do not qualify, therefore the only option I see is RPL.

That also means you'll lose 8 years of experience as "hands-on qualification" and only for what's on top of those you'll receive points.

  3. There are several parks near Ithaca: Gilbert, Woolcock, Jubilee and Bardon Lions. All with playgrounds and open areas. Wookcock also have BBQ, so it's quite popular especially during weekends, althought with the heat wave from last week it was a bit empty.

  4. Hi all, We just arrived from the UK on the 10th and are looking for a permanent rental as we're in holiday accommodation at the moment. We've found somewhere we like in Bardon and it's in the catchment for Ithaca Creek State School. Our son is 7. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of the school and whether it has a good reputation? Thanks.

My kids are going to Ithaca since September (it's holiday now) and school is great. Good teachers and really nice community around the school.

  5. Not the seller is adding extra tariffs, but the buyer to protect local economy. Therefore, Germany will not do such a thing.

Nevertheless, without freedom of movement there is no EU. Hence for UK to sell in EU without extra tariffs (as EU is buyer in this case) will have to accept it.

Conclusion is that tariffs are not at all a red hering if you'll understand how this works.

  6. Rubbish, europe needs the UK more than we need them, they will not cause massive job losses in their own countries by not selling to the UK

I believe you're confused. Who said anything about not selling? EU is selling to Japan, US and Australia. None been part of the union.

However, freedom of movement is a pillar of EU and none should expect flexibility on this matter.

  7. From legal point of view 189 is identical with 190. That means you're allowed to live/work anywhere in Australia, there is no limitation to the state that gave you nomination.

As somebody else said above, there is a moral (again, not legal) obligation. Difficult to be 100% moral without a job.

Nevertheless, I would suggest to contact SA emigration authority and explain you case.

  8. Thanks for your reply Maggie.

I thought these recommended documents list is generated from application/EOI.

So would you recommend just leaving those recommended documents places empty?

How do I include documents for spouse skills assessment for points that I AM claiming but which they haven't given as a recommended document? There doesn't seem to be any place to give them.

There is also an "Attach documents" button on top of the ones referring to specific details. You can upload it there adding correct description.

  9. Hi Guys,

Just recieved a response from DIBP - they have requested some further documents.

Evidence of Employment - I have references from all my previous employers, CV and payslips. Any ideas what I could provide further?

Birth Certificate - My other half's country doesn't provide certificates at birth so we don't have one. Provided the passport scanned, but this is rejected - all we have otherwise is her National ID card - do you think that would work?

    Thanks.

DIBP requests a different type of reference compared with ACS/VETASSESS.

Max 5 responsibilities and should state your salary

  10. Yes I know, I was scouring for info on every site on the processing time and was losing hope, that's why I wanted to post this. I'm sure you will hear soon.

    good luck

    Hi, Carolann,

Can I ask what kind of "prove of salary history" did you provided in your application?

Just received such a request, but I am not sure what to provide. Payslips for each month or just a few?

  11. Hi Ozee, where do you see that info, I can never find it. I don't have an Immi account as my agent has access to mine. My visa was lodged in the 26th June, keep checking my emails every hour practically. The waiting is killing me! As it is all of you, I'm sure. Sounds as though it might've nearer the 10 wks then. 8 wks this Friday for me ?

    Hi,

You can find dates following https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Allocation-dates-for-General-Skilled-Migration-applications. 189 and 190 visas have a 3 months standard processing duration and their goal is to achieve it in 75% of the cases.

Note that updates are done in the beginning of each month, doesn't necessary means case officer will be allocated only once per month for next batch of applications. For example, I received case officer on 17th of August (application made on 29th of June).

  12. Indeed, there is no experience requirement. But they have a strange process. First I submitted EOI for 190 with NSW a s preferred state, in ~1 week NSW sent me an confirmation they are interested in my skill/application and asking to pay the nomination fee and submit for NSW nomination, 5 weeks later I received the actual nomination and invitation to apply for visa.

  13. Hello,

I have an experience of 3 years 4 months in my own firm as a Proprietor. Along with this, I have a year's experience as a Chartered Accountant. This total makes it 4 years 4 months. Along with this, I have worked around 2 years 8 months as an intern/article where the pay was stipend(and not salary) i.e. negligible like Rs.2000 per month. So the total exceeds 5 years in this case.

My consultant has told me that since in the internship I have received some money, then the same is countable however meager it may be. However, I'm not sure if he is correct. Can you please confirm if all the 3 work experiences are countable? I've heard CO's are strict and they do reduce experience as per their own methods. In some cases they also reject the application is what I've heard.

Didn't you received your skill assessment before submitting an EOI? From the assessment it should be clear how many years of experience you can claim.

So what if it isn't the first invitation round? There will be another round shortly thereafter. These visas take no time these days.
  14. ACS is only assessing your education and experience and, based on them, will fix "requirements met" date.

Even if your diploma will be assessed as equivalent with "IT major", based on assessment you'll only receive "skilled employment" points. To receive points for education a Microsoft diploma is not enough.

  15. As far as I know there is no list of "approved" universities. However, as ACS requirement is diploma should be equivalent with one from AU, expectations are topics learnt while in overseas university are similar with those from an Australian university.
