  1. Dear all, Glad to say my visa has been granted in a month. Best regards,
  2. Hi everyone, I am glad to join "the August gang" . 190 application has been lodged in 4th August and awaiting for the CO allocated. Have anyone done the medical check yet?. Hopefully, our turn will be coming soon, long wait is killing me
  3. With the PhD under your belt, you wouldn't have any problems finding jobs in Australia. I am currently working in a Downstream area of a Human Viral Vaccine Manufacturing at CSL Limited. My job is more likely an industrial life scientist with trials improving processes. However, with a major in Pharmacogenomics, CSL Limited and Bio21 are the one you may want to have a look, I am assuming you are moving to Melbourne as Vic sponsors you the visa. Anyway, best luck for your new journey coming to Australia. Best regards,
  4. Dear JoannaAch, I have been working in OZ for more than 2 years in Melbourne, how about you? Regards,
  5. Hi Ozpursuit, My occupation is Life Scientist Nec (234599). Regards,
  6. Thanks guys, my state sponsorship had been granted less than 24 hs after lodging. Glad to say
  7. I was in the same situation before and sent a message to VETASSESS to clarify my work experience that would be considered as it is stated on the VetAssess Outcome letter or in my employer's letter for further stages of migration process And this is the response from them "Dear Tuan, Thank you for your email. In addition to your qualification (Master of Science) meeting the educational requirements for the nominated occupation, VETASSESS only required to consider at least one year of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level within the last five years for the nominated occupation. Therefore the two most recent contractual periods of employment with BioCSL have been considered as meeting the minimum one year employment skills assessment criteria. The period of employment listed on the outcome letter was the duration of employment that has been considered for assessment. I hope this information is of some help to you. Please contact us again if we can be of further assistance. Regards," So in my opinion, they just pick whatever in our files (qualification, recent employment contracts) those meet the requirements of skill assessment. I hope this helps some how, Regards,
  8. Dear all, I've just received the positive skill assessment that I am very happy with. Now we move onto the next stage of the process which is State Sponsorship Nomination. And the requirement for my occupation is 2 year work experience that I would be fine as I have been working for the company for more than 2.5 year. However, on the Skill Assessment outcome paper, it stated that "Employment assessed: from 10/2011 to 08/2012 and from 10/2012 to 05/2013" a total of 19 months, so there is a 5 months short. Honestly, I don't know why they forgot the period of my employment during 2010 - 2011 even though my reference letter already mentioned that. So what should I do to fix it? should I call VetAssess to fix it or try to explain to VIC officer by writing a letter with a support of my reference letter from my employer. I will highly appreciate any advices that would help me to overcome it. Thank you a lot Tuan Tran
  9. Thanks for sharing, gumster. Good luck for the rest of the process
  10. Congrats gumster. That's great news, may I ask you why would you think your partner would have failed the assessment? I am in situation that my application may get rejected as well. Please tell your story and that would help me to gain more confidence and being ready to deal with whatever coming up in the next 3 weeks. Cheers
  11. Thank you very much, blossom79. That's really encouraging me a lot. Have you experienced or known anyone would have a same situation like me before? and how did they do to get a successful skill assessment? This is a really tough time for me.
  12. Hi everyone, I just help a problem with the skill assessment and any advices would be appreciated. The situation is I am currently working for a biopharmaceutical company, making Flu Vaccine as an Influenza Technician. And the only occupation related to my work that is still available for the State Sponsorship (Victoria) is Life Scientist nec. My qualification is not a problem for the skill assessment as I obtained a master degree in Science (Biotechnology), also my managers wrote a good letter explaining my duties matching with the job description of a Life Scientist nec from source of immigration site. The only problem is that my job title is still a life science technician where they may reject my application. What do you think about it? will I get through the skill assessment:wacko: and any recommendations would be highly appreciated Best regards Tuan Tran
