    Help on 457

Exactly right Alaska. Speaking to Go Matilda this morning we need to have a degree to go along with our occupations. My wife has nearly 20 years experience in her role and I have around 15 with a good evidenced track record behind me. I think we may start this to the latter end of the year with the view of hopefully an offer coming in from an employer next year some time. Just got to watch and see what goes on with the 457's before then though. sounds like they may be culling some of he occupations on the list to make it more of a 'skilled' list and I also read they may look at extending the 28 days to 90 days to find another job if yours is lost.

Thanks for the replies guys. Why the last comment Rupert? Is it because of our occupations, state of the job market or the current situation of 457 visas?

    Help on 457

Hi, We are new to the forum but we've been lurking for a while. Spoke to a few different agencies here in the UK and found Go Matilda very helpful this morning. looks like we may have to look at 457 visas as neither of us have great qualifications (diploma in financial services for myself) and state sponsored would need me to have at least a degree. A question we had was about timescales. If we're not looking to move over to Oz until later end of next year, I presume we should hold back and start looking at possible employment sponsorship next year? Whats the normal timescale people have experienced on 457's from being offered jobs, visa being approved and then actually moving and starting the job? Im a financial adviser and hope to get a job in a bank. My wife works for an advertising agency. Any help or advice would be helpful. thanks
