advice please...mum in uk and wants to move to aus, pass all the requirements, but wants to come over on long holiday whilst waiting for cpv, so

apply for the 3 year parent tourist visa first

or

apply for cpv first

from research I think you cant get the new tourist visa if you have applied for cpv?

Has anyone got any tips on the parent being able to stay in oz for the majority of the time while waiting for the cpv?

Hi I'm new on here just have a quick question

My partner and I are Australian Citizens have lived there since 2005, but for the last 18 months have been back in UK caring for family. We will be returning to Oz September for good and would like to bring my mother over who is newly widowed.

She is 61 so will have to apply for the CPV, will we have a problem because we have been out of the country for 18 months e.g. settled / sponser ?
