  1. Kelly & Tina am wobbling as well. Can't sell my house as tied in until 2017:( but have great tennants. I wobbling as fear in not gaining work, especially as unlikely to get nursing reg. daughter and I talked it out she keen to go and so am I. Unable to get career break - don't even ask!! But we have come this far and when I not wobbling I realise I would regret not trying more than staying put. It's like fav old slippers there comes a time they need changed.

  2. Hi guys, I'm having a nightmare with the whole migration thing! I applied for my visa having been told I didn't need a skills assessment, lost my money because obv I did need a skills assessment! I now have my skills assessment and have reapplied for my visa, currently 5 weeks into the wait for this. Trouble now is that my AHPRA loe runs out on the 12th August and having no visa yet I will be unable to fulfill the registration requirements! I applied for an extension on the loe and this was denied! I now will have to reapply for my AHPRA! Under the new regulations how long will this take? Will I have to get everything re certified again or will the originally certified documents be ok, clearly in a year nothing has changed so you'd think it would be straightforward but somehow I feel it will be more complicated! Any advice will be gratefully received, thanks.

If there is a chance of heading to ahpra I would under a tourist visa as ahpra has changed from last year..and as other threads show diploma nurses not getting registration. Good luck with whatever you decide

  3. I have been lucky enough to get the golden email today with my letter of eligibility from AHPRA.

My background is having a BA Nursing Studies & BSc Hons Specialist Community Public Health Nursing.

However, after 20+ years of nursing alongside colleagues who's training ranged from the old modular training through to masters level I am deeply saddened that highly trained, highly experienced, dedicated & intuitive nurses are not perceived to be 'good enough'. I will continue to support everyone on here & it's from the bottom of my heart that I hope you are all successful in knocking down & destroying the large barrier AHPRA have erected on your path to Oz xx

so pleased for you at least degree nurses getting reg.

  4. Hi everyone today I received my letter for more info to be sent to aphra seems pointless since I'm a diploma nurse but anyway every time I try to email the CO I get the email returned as a bad gateway. The end of the email address is @aphra.gov.au I thought it would of been ahpra how does everyone else's co's end?

    try ahpra.gov.au rather than aphra.gov.au

  5. Seems it going round in circles as TRA is for some occupations . Anmac carry out nurses but ahpra state not equal as per AQF they then say oh no that's not us it TRA(nearly sure TRA not used for nursing! Will check web later) it's a bit of a joke if my employment wasn't resting on ahpra!

  6. Gutted for you as I am also diploma nurse feel the pain. Dreading my refusal as bridging course is expensive. That's if I get bringing course as children trained only especially after anmac has assessed my diploma as equal to australian degree.

  7. I am hoping to hear something this week/early next week. They set a deadline of 19th Jun to make a decision on my case, (they chose to extend the assessment period). They haven't contacted me to extend it again....yet! but as it is tomorrow, I am hoping this will be result time.

I am hoping for a yes, expecting a no and a suggestion of bridging

fingers and toes crossed and positive vibes. Hope you hear soon.

  8. Brick wall banging head! Rang ahpra this am told to put my query in via email!

rang Nmc for help with criteria 8 was told they couldn't help so go back to uni( Nmc who set the education standards as I quoted to her)

nearly afraid to ring school and am ready to throw in towel and stay put!!! I know I did medicine just not a specific module in it. And update it every 3 yrs!!! Frustrated is not the word. Soz for rant but am close to tears over this last piece of info.

Update;spoke to uni very helpful lady she now on the case for info:) as has dealt with new criteria recently.

  9. understandable if you cant send me :) so how's your AHPRA registration now? did you get it already? how long did you wait to grant your registration? I heard they might be slower since Feburary as they changed the rules. :(

Not registered yet (need to send more info) don't know if anyone has got reg from they changed criteria:( but hopefully somebody will soon

  10. I don't have the examples they with ahpra and my job statement/reference would not be same as yours also it has confidential info which I will not be sharing sorry. I did anmac first as they forward documents to ahpra but I you can do both at same time(just double documents with possible addition costs). I didn't use agent(had brief phone call but in relation to parental consent not nursing).

  11. Hello all !!I am on the same boat!!

May I ask what are the differences between professional reference and employment statement? Is that I need to provide both of them?

I saw from ANMAC guideline for professional reference..

    http://anmac.org.au/sites/default/fi...ce_example.pdf

so I just need to follow the example..then would be accepted?

I worked in a mixed ward before..so I should put 254499 Registered Nurse as the ANZCO code?

Also, how do you contact your supervisor to do for you? you will send her a sample or just the template to let her fill in for you?

I am in Perth now btw, if anyone is around here and doing the same thing as me, it will be good that we can meet up too.

    thanks a lot!

My supervisor was ward sister so she did reference I printed out example and explained how had to follow guidelines. Statement of service well mine was basically band 5 job description tailored to my specific job again my ward sister completed this. My anmac code was one for paeds, but if unsure email anmac stating which area you work in and they can guide you as which code to use.Good luck

  12. They require work reference and statement of service as proof. Ward manager or HR can provide. There is guideline for reference ;follow guidelines as they only accept references in their format. Think the FAO section on their web site has how to provide evidence.

  13. I was in exactly the same boat oz2014. My uni provided a statement of NMC standards of education which includes medicines management and standards for registered nurses for criteria 8. They seemed to know all about it, and said that's what they had provided for other recent students and which was accepted! Mine has been sent and has been accepted also so give it a whirl! And just attach the relevant new AHPRA paperwork for them to complete for criteria 2. For criteria 6 they provided a programme specification for when I studied, they weren't totally happy with it, but uni said there's literally nothing else they can provide and AHPRA have since said what I have sent is fine and they will proceed.

Good Luck! If you need any info give us a shout or just bombard the direct contact email that is on your letter, that's what I do, they must be sick of me, but needs must!! ;)

Thank you you for giving me back a little hope(especially as in night duty this weekend lol) will contact ahpra Monday. Nmc have stated they will forward info needed. Criteria 2 is already sorted it's 3 but again Nmc area. I was especially worried about criteria 6 but will take your suggestion again thank you. Also May pm u for more info if get nowhere. Hope u get sorted soon. I head to oz oct so hope it sorted by then!

    Thank you so much

    helen
