  1. Hi there,  having had our small move cube arrive this week,  just thought I would share our personal opinions of what we were happy to unwrap and what we weren't bothered by!

Photos, pictures, books and personal 'junk' I am really glad we packed. Instantly makes it feel more homely.

Clothes and shoes- having moved in February I had survived 7 months without these clothes and shoes and really wasn't at all excited about the 4 other pairs of trainers, or other t-shirts etc that I had shipped by sea.

Electrical's- decent stereo system, TV soundbar, dyson hot and cold fan- really happy we packed these- all work perfectly.

Loads of ariel washing pods- probably not cost effective- but I like the smell! and very expensive in the UK shops here in Perth.

Things I wished we had brought over and didn't:-

My biggest regret:- My car- mini cooper- I had it from new so knew how well / badly I treated it- European cars here are expensive. Wish I had been more organised and shipped it over.

more UK to AUS plug adapters.

Decent furniture (excluding wardrobes)- I have got most stuff from gumtree since being here- there is not the choice, especially not online, (loved amazon and eBAY in UK) like in the UK, plus its expensive, or takes 20 days to arrive. (maybe an exaggeration)

    Hoover!!!!!

Very happy with Sevenseas too, I had large glass picture frames in my move cube- no scratches, no glass damage whatsoever. Door to door was 2.5 months and able to track on the website.

  2. I would send whatever you have that's related to drug calculations, competencies etc including the med management one you mentioned. I am degree trained so sorry I can't help you with the diploma side of things, although there seems to be a few others on the forum in a similar position to you that may be able to help. I sent my AHPRA end of February- got approved mid May, hope this helps x

  3. I'm guessing the verification of registration is the same as your NMC statement of entry? If you have your original statement of entry to the NMC you can send it directly yourself to AHPRA, they don't need to come from the NMC. The certificate of good standing should go straight from NMC to AHPRA- confirming that you are currently on the register and you have no impending tribunals etc. 4 pages for academic transcript is about the same as what mine was.

  4. Hi @Pinkestlady I too had to wait a long time to get NMC to send my certificate of good standing. Have you asked for an extension from AHPRA? If you explain what NMC have said and ask for an extension they may give you one. Also your uni transcripts should include the number of theory and number of placement hours you did at uni, is this missing from your transcript? I only ask as I had to ask for an additional transcript to cover this as it wasn't on my original academic transcript.

  5. Hi @jac2011, I just wondered if you received the following email from ANMAC during your application?:-

'I have undertaken an initial review of your skills assessment application. At this time it appears that all documents are in order, pending a more detailed review. A senior assessor will contact you when your assessment is commenced.'

If so, how long did you wait from this until your LOD?

    I am just curious!

  6. Thanks for the reply welshsharon, I am just worried as we definitely did drug calculations at Uni but cannot remember if we did any in depth work on pharmacokinetics etc. and APHRA seem to be quite particular! No doubt I will hear from them if there's a problem

  7. Hi There,

Congratulations to those who have recently had their successful LOD from APHRA.

Could I please ask what information did you/ your Uni send for Criteria 8 - "certification that your course covered medicine management including drug calculation, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics?'

  8. Hi There

I am new to the forum, and have been lurking and reading the threads for the past couple of months. I am a children's nurse looking at emigrating (hopefully) to Australia.

I have started to get my paperwork together for my anmac application, but I have reached a bit of a stumbling block. I have managed to get statements of employment from both my current and previous employer. I have also got a reference from my current manager but my previous manager is on maternity leave! I have tried ringing both my current hospital and previous hospitals HR Department to try and get my hands on the reference my previous manager had written for me, but I am not having much joy!

Does anyone who has gone through the ANMAC application know if I can get away with just a professional reference from my current employer? I do not need the extra points on the visa application for work experience, but still unsure if they require professional references from all previous employers?

Any help would be great as I am a bit stuck!
