Hi, I am a PR but my parents visit me on a tourist visa. Although they are in good health they have medication to take. They can get a three month supply from their GP in Scotland however if they are here for longer than that they can get a repeat prescription from a doctor here but have to pay $70 consultation fee. Can they apply for a temporary Medicare card and claim some of the cost back? The reciprocal agreement between UK and Aus allows Australians to access medical care in UK free of charge. Just wondered how it works the other way?
thanks,
shelley
