  1. Hello, We´re a Spanish family migrating to Oz next February. After a, let´ say, intense year, we already have our visas() and are now preparing our trip. Our biggest worries now are related with job searching. My husband has a bachelor in Social Education, after doing some research in seek and other websites, I think his current job would be defined as "Case Worker" in Oz. We have been looking at several associations and we are almost sure he can get a membership with ACWA. As we still have no experience of the job market in Oz, we don´t know if it is worth the hassle and the money. An opinion from someone in the same occupation (or related) would be really appreciated. Thank you, and see you soon, Yosune.
  2. Hi all, I just wanted you to know we´re on the same boat. I lodged my visa on the 22th of june and got a CO on the 24th of july. He asked for medicals, pcc and some documents such as photos and kid¨s birth certificates, which we uploaded on the 18th of august. Since then, we,ve had no news. Our CO is BA, from team 7, Adelaide, and we´re from Spain, which is not a high risk country. We sent an e-mail three weeks ago asking if medicals were ok and were told (by a different CO) that they had been received and were OK. I hope it is just that the CO is ill, or on holiday. I would apreciate if someone with the same CO could share his experience. Wish everyone good luck and a short wait!!
  3. Hi, I think Vetassess can give you a qualification points advice letter even if it is not your assessment authority. From their website: Applicants who have received a Skills Assessment from another Assessing Authority If you have been referred to VETASSESS by another assessing authority for an assessment of your unrelated or higher qualifications you can apply using our online application formor by completing and submitting the SRG34 Application for VETASSESS Advisory Letter on Qualification(s) for Points Test Purposes (non-VETASSESS occupations) VETASSESS will assess the highest qualification held (regardless of the area of study), up to postgraduate doctoral degree level unless the applicant requests another qualification to be assessed for Points Test purposes. In some cases VETASSESS will need to consider two or more qualifications to determine whether together they are comparable to the educational level of a qualification on the Australian Qualifications Framework.
