  1. Point Cook seams to tick all the boxes so far. I have seen some of the properties for rent in the eastern suburbs and they look horrible and ridiculously over priced. Cranbourne seemed to offer new style homes at a reasonable prices but is still 50km from the CBD.It seems far easier to find a new style home in Point Cook and the fact it is a newish town interests me more. Are there many parks for kids and picnic areas in Point Cook? Google maps seems to be 3 years out of date. A couple of properties I have viewed online are just building sites when trying to view it on street view.
  2. Thanks for the detailed responses guys. I'm really keen on Point Cook due to it been newish and the style of houses available. The feeback I have been getting seems to be really good . It takes me an hour to get to work here in London and is tolerable so the same in sunny Melbourne will be fine. The broadband is the issue though. I work in the IT sector and need to work from home time to time. Thanks Petals I will look at the Life in Victoria thread as well.

  4. Hi Guys Im moving to Melbourne in July with wife and daughter and I am looking on advice for the best area to settle in. I'm currently looking at Cranbourne in the east or Point Cook in the west. Are these good choices? Main criteria are: Schools have to be good , no longer than an hour from CBD and good internet. Any suggestions are welcome. Robert
