Thanks all for your comments! We were originally going for state sponsorship and TRA is sent off since February but we got the offer of employer sponsorship so this way is quicker.. it was kinda on our terms and it would of given us more time to rent house, sell cars etc.. if going on the state sponsorship.. also we have a school going 5 year old who has autism so if anyone who has made the move with a child with autism I'd love to hear your views! I know the medicals are harder to get (something I only found out recently) with an autistic child but with the 457 visa is it as strict?

Hi everyone new to this site so bear with me! Got offered sponsorship on 457 visa in Brisbane and initially thought great opportunity but I think things are slowing down a bit over there, maybe I'm wrong.. I just want to know the security of that particular visa, do you sign a contract or if work dries up where are you then? I'm in the construction industry.. I have a partner and two kids coming out with me also.. We just see this as an opportunity in life and are afraid to turn it down but it all has to stack up financially of course.. See, we're ok financially here and we've a low mortgage so we're basically shittin' it to be honest with the high rents over there and spending any savings we have to get set up over there.. we know we have to do all this but we wouldn't care if we knew there was 80% chance of it working out but we feel it's 50/50.. maybe it's the jitters :arghh:anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated!
