  1. Hi Myself and husband are considering emigrating to australia (melbourne). We have been to oz before and qualify for a skilled visa. With having two young kids, we would be looking at one parent working full time and one parent part time. We we would most likely be looking at a joint income of between 90k - 100k oz dollars before tax. Is there any families living in Melbourne on a similar joint income, and if you can advise if you think this is a good enough joint income for a family of four? Thanks
  2. Thanks for the replies. I would also think this would not be a problem and too be honest we would be traveling with my husbands dad also and he will be on a tourist visa in case we do have any issues. If I can leave this post open to anyone who has been in this scenario that would be great, just to reassure me... Thanks
  3. Just bringing this post to life again. Has anyone been in the situation (or know the answer) where they have had to travel to Oz to activate their visa's but now have a newborn who was not on the original application, and then return to the UK to settle things up before making the move and apply for the child 101 visa from the UK? I need to know if its possible for a newborn to travel with us on a tourist visa, while we activate our visa's and the return to the UK.

Hey, Looking at child care costs in oz and we are working it out on $75 a day. Can anyone help with what we would be entitled to with child benefit and rebate? I worked it out online to be $332 Rebate and $307 Benefit a month and that was one of us on $60k a year and the other on $540 a week over a year, for 1 child at $75 a day for fees for 3 days a week.......does that seem right if anyone else is roughly on these figures? Is there others entitlements, or just those 2 for working families?
  6. Thanks for the reply.....I think I typed my situation too quickly, my head is about to burst LOL! I know now that the child visa 101 comes with a date of entry just like the other migration visa's so I would need to apply for this close as possible to when we know when we will make the official move to Australia. i.e 14 months before. I need to know what happens if me, my husband and child go to activate our PR via 190 visa, but we now have a new born, who was born after medicals and 190 visa was granted....would I simply be able to take the new born on a vistor visa with a return ticket (we would all have return tickets as this would just be activation), then apply for their child visa at a later date when we returned to the Uk. I hope that makes sense
  7. so what I need to know is below If me, my husband and child gain PR via 190 visa.......but we have another child before the 190 is granted, we would then have to apply for a CMV 101 but the issues I may face is that if we had to activate our PR via the 190 visa before the CMV101 was granted would our new child be able to come with us on a holiday visa while we activate our PR, we would all have return tickets too the UK?
  8. I have managed to find a post on another website which states the 101 visa does have an initial entry date requirement like other migration visa
  9. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have read a few other posts and timelines are stating 7-8 months, some even as low as 3 months if applying from the Uk and your a british citizen...so good luck also. I suppose the best option is for us to apply maybe 14 months before we planned to go so that way, it would cover his activation, rather than another flight for activation. That leaves another issue though for me what could I do if we had to activate the 190 visa, and we did this with a newborn who wasn't on the 190application....can the newborn go on a holiday visa with the rest of us activating our PR then all return to the Uk
  10. Looking for an answer to my scenario I may end up in. Ok so me, my husband and my child get the 190 state sponsorship visa and we go to Australia to activate this, then we return home. I then have another child when we are home, so we have to apply for a child migration visa from the UK at a cost of $2060. So some questions I am looking to be answered by all you kind people out there. 1. How long does this visa take to be granted? 2. Does the child have to activate this, like we do with the 190 visa, or is it just simply valid for 5 years on date issued?
  11. Hi, I am a bit confused by the 190 state sponsorship visa. I understand that this comes with an obligation that you have to work and live in that state for 2 years, which is fine I will meet these requirements no problem if thats what it takes to get the visa. However I am looking for some clarity does the 2 year living and working requirement have too be fulfilled by your expiry date i.e in my case if I was granted the visa in Sep 2014, would I have to have completed this by Sep 2019 or could I make the permeant move to Australia in July 2019 and then fulfil the 2 year obligation? My plan would be to activate the visa by the required date which I believe is a year from my medicals and PCC the return too the Uk. I am doing this due to waiting till my family are at school age, but need to apply for the visa now, as I'll drop points in a few years.
