  1. You may be right. Or they could win and receive instant processing and or compensation. Its a tough decision to make and can take time and money. But it may be worth it for some win or lose.

You have to be in it to win it or you have already lost.

Hi Guys. I admire your determination to succeed and challenging DIBP's decision. I can totally understand your disappointment in relation to the Cap n Cease. It was a shocking decision and I feel your pain. However, as someone who also has a genuine interest and have done some research on the topic, I would like you guys to consider this, saying you spent $10k each on legal cost and 12 months later you win. DIBP then put you back in the processing queue again that might take another 10 or 20 years to process. I understand that there are up to 18000 applicants affected by the Cap and Cease so we are talking about a large number here. So would you want to live your life with such uncertainty or it is better to move on with life or find a different visa classes. Not to mention the cost involved and the toll on your family.

  3. Randwick tries to process within 3 months. But of course it depends how many there are. We got our letter beginning of May . We were also Randwick. Fortunately a club wanted to sponsor a ceremony and we were asked if we wanted to do it with them at the end of June. So we got our citizenship 2 months after our test.

  4. I wouldn't plan to much until you get your visa approved. Anything can happen on each step of the process from both the employer and DIBP side of things. You maybe able to see your F1 on a visitors visa, but if the 457 isn't approved or falls through you can't work.

  5. Maybe so, but it worked for us at the bank, centrelink, work and Medicare. If it isn't accurate then DIBP should be contacted.

vevo is not always correct (far from it) and a number of employers will ask to see the label.
  6. As mentioned it will have the information from the grant. You can also get free info from the VEVO system on the DIBP website. You can print out or direct the email to another recipient. Others can also access the site if they have the particulars of the grant. Best thing is it saves you $150 per label.

    Hi guys.

We got our PR last Friday. Due to certain reasons I want to get a PR visa label on my passport. I was wondering how this is done. Another important question is that if I get my passport stamped; would the date stamped show the day we got our PR or the date our passport was stamped?

  7. True. But sometimes they wave it or when they want new customers reduce it?

Typically when you add pregnancy cover it comes with a 12-month waiting period to avoid having already pregnant women take up the coverage.
  8. As you are on a 457 now you also have to have private health insurance if not covered on a reciprocal arrangement. If this is the case you should looking into adding your girlfriend and pregnancy services just in case. If you are on a reciprocal arrangement check to see what it will cover in your situation (likely covered in public hospital).

    Hey,

Many thanks for that info. I guess that she can come on my de-facto on my 457 visa, and renew my 457 with work, and then apply for Permanent Residence shortly after that, once the baby is born.

  9. If anyone knew that, they would be millionaires. :) Mine was less than 2 weeks. Depends on the CO, their backoffice staff and how easy it is to verify your documents.

    Hopefully soon.

So whats the usual wait time for LR applicants from Last Document submitted to Visa Grant.

This wait after the 5 year wait already seems long enough !

  10. Yes, you can apply for a WHV and can do so from anywhere. However, I believe as you have applied for a 189 while outside of Oz, you need to be outside when it is granted.

Have you submitted your eoi yet / been invited to apply?

I believe the rules have changed it doesn't matter where you applied for the 189 you can still be granted while inside Australia as long as you have a valid visa to be in Australia.

  11. I think they are making you take all the risks. If you are on a 457 they have to pay the costs of flying you back in certain instances. Whereas the WHV, you are on your own. If that isn't an issue go for the WHV. If you are eligible for a permanent residency visa even better.

  12. You are very trusting. ... and the NSA has destroyed all its illegally gained internet taps... :)

Do you think everyone at DIBP has destroyed the "unofficial" copies of the list?

The DIBP have confirmed that this list is no longer in operation, I believe this has been the case since 2010. The story has only recently emerged after a Freedom Of Information request was made by an agent and it was disclosed.

In any case they have said it was purely as part of an administrative tool (which still exists) that was being used to help allocate applications to the appropriate level, flag certain matters or sensitive issues. The agent was only one aspect of the overall 'risk assessment' and it had no bearing on actual decisions.
