I was only in Hainault last week very nice area right through there IE Chigwell, Woodford Green, Loughton would to be able to find a nice place in that sort of area. Has anyone had any experience with Luton it seems a lot cheaper just wondering why? also Chelmsford ive spent some time there and its quite nice.

I'm guessing you kids are grown up? 10 months doesn't seem long we are from Brisbane and our next choice would be Melbourne after the UK, the closest you'll get in oz I suppose.

Yes its a hard decision isn't it "should we or shouldn't we" after all we have decent jobs a nice house the kids are happy but we feel the English life would suit all of us as we all hate the heat. Are you guys from the UK originally or would it be a huge change for you too?

Thanks really good read. It shows that there is so much more to consider than the obvious we have thought about moving more than once and each time it all seems so complicated and we get cold feet. But we've just hit forty and our girls are getting older so its now or never or think. thanks

Hi thanks for the advice. I have just spent 2 weeks with my dad in Buckhurst hill (Epping area) which is where I was meaning when i mentioned N/E London i found it to be really nice and think it would be a nice place to start. Do you know this area at all? My dad thinks were mad even considering coming to the UK but i suppose a couple of years there and we shall find out. I have looked into NHS & NI numbers and we need to be residing in the UK prior to being able to obtain those. thanks again

Hi, I was born in the Uk in 1971 and moved to brisbane with my parents in 1977 where i have lived all my life. After many many holidays visiting family my wife and myself have fallen in love with the place and people and have decided to relocate the northeast of london. We have two girls (10 & 4) who both have thier naturalisation. The trouble is we don't know where to start as in NHS (would i have one from birth?) & NI numbers, schooling for our daughters and all of that type of thing. If anyone could help with info regarding important things we would need to have sorted prior to moving it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
