hi there, does anyone know what questions do they ask for the phone interview? do I need to have my copies of everything from my application available? are they double checking my facts? or is it just a simple interview to get to know you? thanx!

I have a file number and my contacts name and thats it so far. maybe i'm not as far along as i think?

ok, thanx, i didn't realize that the 3 working day offshore thing was an option. I have only spoken with my CO through email, and she is very short with me and hasn't given me any information about offshore waiting times or anything like that. thanx agian

Hi there, I am Canadian and my girlfriend is Australian. We are both living in Canada. I sent in my application on March 20, 2013. I have completed my medical exams and all other requests made by the department. I think my application was pretty good. Anyhow, we are getting rid of our apartment and going on a trip to France and the UK for the month of July. And then we were planning on going to Sydney from there. I have a couple questions... Is that enough time for processing? or am I going to get to the end of July and not be able to enter Australia? If I don't have an address and I leave Canada can they approve my visa while I'm traveling? do I get a physical document? or is it just an number that I give to customs? If I don't get approved by the end of July, can I apply for a Tourist Visa for Australia, and enter on that while I'm waiting on my Partner visa to be approved? Or will I have to be outside of Australia until the visa is approved? I just really don't want to go on this trip, and then come back to Canada, just to get approved, just to go back to Australia again. Do you recommend asking these types of questions to the person handling my application at the department? Or will they just tell me to bugger off and deny me? Alright, I'm done rambling.
