If l like to apply for General Skilled migration category then I should get at least 50 points. I can have points for Age:15 ponints (as my age within 40-44 yrs); IELTS: 10 points (if I get 7 on each); Professional experience: 15 points (as I have more than 18 years work experience); Educational experience: 15 points (as I have MSc degree); therefore total points I may have: 55. Am I eligible to get additional 10 points for 'designated area sponsorship' (as my younger brother is a citizen of Aus and he is willing to sponsor me)? Oh my God! Is it? So, it is not suitable for me. When I get this visa I will be on 54/55, I should not be a burden of Aus Govt. Thanks for your useful information. Best wishes for you. But I like to see Australia and visit my younger brother's house, how can I? Please advise.

I'm married and we have 2 daughters. Actually my younger brother is a citizen of Australia and are living with his family, we are really interested to go there if there is any scope. My parents are not alive. Can I apply in the 'remaining relative offshore'? Does this category visa takes 14 years to get? If so, it is not suitable for us as I have already crossed 40 years. Could you please tell me which category is suitable for me & takes least time to get. I have over 15 years working experience in Government & Int'l NGO & United Nations and I may apply in General Skilled Migration category but as I have crossed 40 yrs I don't get much points for this category. Many thanks. Does it mean, for the applicant living outside Australia is not eligible to apply in this cat 835. They need to apply in other category like skilled migration visa or others, then his/her brother (is a citizen) may sponsor the applicant. Skilled migration is not suitable for me as I have crossed 40 yrs and could get only 15 points in this area.

Thanks for the reply & suggestion. Actually I am staying outside Australia and like to migrate in Australia. My brother also interested to see me in Aus with my family. Few of my friends mean that if I like to be there, my brother should ask visa for my father or mother first, then he can process visa for any of his brother/sister under remaining relative visa cat 835. As I like a new born in this sector, hence I like to have your suggestion/input/guidance. Just let me clear about that whether I can be an applicant in this cat 835 using sponsorship of my brother as my parent is not alive or I should apply under General Skilled Migration category. As it is clearly mentioned in 1st point, so I can apply in this category 835. I have read out the booklet 4 aslo and found that I can apply as per eligibility criteria. Hi all, I am a new member in pomsinoz. I have some queries to know. My younger brother is a citizen of Australia. I would like to know that, can I proceed AUS migration under migration category 835 (remaining relatives visa ) ? or, I have to apply another category which is in connection with my brother's citizenship.
