  1. Hi there, sounds like we are in exactly the same position... The Ielts in Dublin is on the 27th of April so will have to decide before then if we are going to go for it... We have been dealing with an agent so far but haven't paid over any money yet.. like you I've been looking everything up myself would save us €3000 if I could do it myself... Just finding the decision really hard... Worried about having to rent our home and being able to send home funds to keep it going... Please keep in contact and let me know how your getting on... Would also really love to hear from family who have moved and how they are finding it... thanks
  2. Hi Legal Angel, I'm in Wexford... thanks for answering my questions.. I really appreciate your honesty. My husband would be working in constraction he is a Stonemason/Bricklayer not an engineer in the mine lol... you have given me alot to consider... We would be looking to get the PR Visa which means we would be residents entering the country... We would have two children going to school but would need after school care.. OMG the cost of peppers...
  3. Hi Legal Angel, Sorry do you mind me asking what was your rent? and how much was childcare? thanks again shannen
  4. Hi Legan Angel, Thanks a million for your reply, really want to hear honest accounts. No we'd dont have family in Perth but do have some friends. I don't have anyone set up for childcare.. have looked at the after school care system or perhaps thought with the OH working full time I could perhaps work Part-time. I really am delighted to get your honest reply and it does give me food for thought... Do you think perhaps it might be a bit different with two working... Thank again your reply is really what I wnat to hear about honest life experiences.. thanks..
  5. Hi Rupert, Thanks for your honest constructive views I do appreciate it. I'm glad it has worked out for you. There is alot of Pro's and Con's and I am stuggling to make this decision. Hopefully some people with children will also reply and let me know how it all worked out for them. It is Euro's I would have to send home not the the difference would be hugh. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. Shannen
  6. Hi, We are a family of 4, two children (8) and (4) husband is a stonemason/bricklayer and we have been to seen agent and told we could get a PR Visa. We are trying to decide 100% before we start to spend what little savings we have. I would really love to hear from other families in the same position or families who have made the move... I have spent weeks researching online.. Struggling with the decision as am worried about having to send home money to top up mortgage once we get to Perth? Is anyone doing this? how do you find it? Can it be done? Planning on hubby going out first and us following in about 6months, we would both hope to be working, I have worked in Office Management for over 5yrs... Is it hard to get administration type jobs out there? Has anyone had to take the IELTS exam? How did you find it? We are both currently working here but are bearly getting by.. husband works away from home from Mon-Fri and has been doing this for 3.5yrs we just can't keep going like this and see going for the Visa as a chance to all at least live together. We don't want to be rich just want to know if it is possible to live out there (as have read about how expensive it is) and send home money to pay mortage..(shorfall of about 300-400 per month) Would really really appreciate if anyone would like to share their experience of this with me... thanks...
