  1. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but without reading through 1000's of posts I thought I'd start a new one... Our boy is 6, and in the UK he goes to breakfast club run at his school when my OH is working and then after school club which runs till 6. If the job I'm going for pulls off (everything crossed) we will probably be looking for the same kind of thing. We'll be looking to live in the Kew East/ Balwyn areas as property there falls within our budget, and is a fairly short distance to where I'll be based, so my question is do the primaries there offer the same kind of thing? If so, can anyone give me an approximate cost? Thank you! LJW
  2. That was the one! Thank you so much!
  3. Hi All, I have the possibility of an amazing job coming up based in the Kew area... Can anyone here recommend what areas to start looking in to live without a hefty commute? Ideally a 2/3 bed appartment or house with decent schools in the locality, we have a 6 y/o. I've looked at maps and estate agency sites but that doesn't really account for the 'human' side of it! The company will give me accommodation for the 1st 3 months which will give me plenty of time to find us a home (rental) but it would be good to have some ideas beforehand. Can anyone also help out with the kinds of things we need to take into account when looking at our living budgets? I remember when we were looking at the move, same company not so good a job, about 2 years ago someone here had posted a typical budget, but how easy that will be to find after all this time... Things like mobile costs, tv etc, electric, council services, and all the other basics, but I'm positiove there will be other things that we don't (currently) have to pay for in the UK. Many thanks in advance... LJW
