  1. Thanks Blossom79, we are looking into various types of visa but also thinking of sending our CVs to various schools to see what sort of interest there is and if it is possible to get a sponsor.
  2. Hi Aston Ks, the only reason it's maybe not straight forward is that my wife is a qualified primary school teacher in the UK and now works as a deputy head at the local Catholic school but at the moment that has been taken off the list and I think her skills only qualify her as a Pre Primary teacher in OZ, although a brilliant teacher she has not tought at that level. my problem is I have been working as a joiner/ furniture installer with some of the top companies in the UK but I have no qualifications in my field of work.
  3. Hi all, my wife and I are looking at applying for visas to live in OZ, we look pretty good on the points system but not totally straight forward. Would you recommend using an agent? If so any good ones to be recommended and what's the going rate to pay for one????? steve.
  4. Thanks Chall77, i will get my wife to take a look and keep my fingers crossed.
  5. Thanks for the reply blossom79, I think we will go down the teaching route but want to try and do my bit too so will keep investigating.
  6. My name is Steve and this is my first time using this site so forgive me if I get the etiquette wrong. my wife and I are looking to relocate to Australia with our 8 year old daughter, I am 42 and my wife is 32. My wife is a fully qualified primary school teacher in the UK ( I think she only qualifies as a pre primary in OZ ) and I have been manufacturing and installing furniture for about 15 years but don't have my qualifications or certificates as I never went to college to learn my trade, I went straight into factory life and have learnt various joinery and carpentry skills along the way. I have worked at the top end of the industry or most of my joinery life and have also done a few spells overseas in Barbados and South Africa. Can anyone help me by letting me know what I need to do to get my skills recognised in OZ? I was thinking of emailing my CV to as many companies as possible but not sure if this is the best way to go. We think we stand a better chance of getting a visa on my wife's age and qualifications but I want to do my best to help so any help or advice would be great fully accepted. steve
