Hi!
Well...we started the ball rolling in April 2010 by having a meeting with The Emigration Group (TEG). They explained the system etc and the best route for us using hubby's trade. However, our wedding was booked for June 2011 in the UK so we started getting everything sorted but knew it wouldnt be until well after the wedding. Lee did the IELTS and had to attend London to do his skilled assessment with vetassess.
However...as it turned out we fell pregnant with Leo on our honeymoon so things kind of went on hold as we decided to have Leo in the UK (with him been the first grandchild). We finally had our medicals in October 2012 and made the move this February! Its been a long and stressful process but we made it and so far so good.
We are looking at rental properties in places like Madeley, Woodvale, Hocking etc and then eventually in a couple of years we may buy if we feel settled. Lee starts his job next week. We didn't have one on arrival but he put his details on gumtree and has had loads of offers so its pretty easy, there seems to be plenty of carpentry work here in Perth.
As for the blog...I have absolutely no idea how to do that!! I am not very technical. Its taken me about 20 minutes to figure out how to reply lol. I am going to find a few hours where I can sit and have a nosy on how to use this site properly and then that is certainly something I will do. I am happy to help with any questions or offer advice for anyone I can. Making this move has been one of the hardest things ever so if I can assist someone else in their big move I am more than happy to help!
Take care and keep me posted on your journey! Good luck with the IELTS and assessment. If you think it would be helpful I can ask Lee (hubby) to send you a message to let your hubby know what to expect with the assessment. He was really nervous but said he felt quite confident but he said it was intense so it might be good for him to give you some tips...just an idea. Let me know.
