I applied for 457 along with my wife as dependent. It got approved from Immigration today!!! Thanks all for the response.:wink:

I have heard where we can request the embassy of the case, and they do entertain a special case.. And she can be added in 457 as dependent. I dont want my wife to deliver in Oz, just wnate her to stay with me.. She will complete her first trimester by the time i travel.. I have searched google and found such special case as well ..

Thats in process and i will get it in 2 weeks.. I already had one and that got expired...

The reason being.. i have not arrived in Australia yet.. So when I travel I want to take her with me...

Now I am looking for alternates, like finding someone who is in AUstralia to get a letter from him like visiting him.. so that should help me get tourist visa... will that work out?

My stay in Australia would be a minimum of 6 months.. And yes the policy inthe company many say is because people take their wife and deliver baby there for Aus Citizenship... not sure if i understand that.. but thats what my colleagues say...

What are my other Visa Options?

Hi Team, This is my situation. I am located in India. I am been asked to apply for a Work Permit 457 visa from my company. I was going to add my wife as dependent in my visa but then I found out she is pregnant. And as per the rule in my company I will not be able to apply for a dependent visa for my wife. But I wanna take her for 3 months and then will send her back to India. I am panning to get a tourist visa for her. Need to know if thats possible and also the formalities pls.
