  1. got a letter emailed from AHPRA today asking for more information to be sent to them for criteria 2 (University Accreditation) criteria 3 (NMC Accreditation) and criteria 8 (evidence of successful completion of pharmacological subject as part of your studies is not sufficient, they want it breaking down more)

on a plus note, no mention of any of the other criteria which can only mean that the good old UK Nursing Diploma IS the equivalent of the Australian Bachelor Degree!

But you sent them the detailed transcript already no? what do they need more? I cannot understand.

  2. Asked for an update on my registration and they sent me the exact words there are in the website. No timeframes, new regulations and applicants will be informed if new documentation needed. Seriously!!!! This registration takes ages and it does not make sense. Or you are in or you are out.

  3. Hi practicenurse, its madness isn't it!! Hope your getting in well out there!! Hi Toodolou, I spoke to an agent about a month ago to check I could claim more points for diploma, that's when they said it was equivelant for immigration. If they have a shortage of nurses why would they make it so difficult, so frustrating! Hi Fraborg01, 3 months is not as bad but still madness and expensive I bet. I wonder if it's this difficult to register as an overseas nurse in the uk!

Its way expensive. They say its from 10000 to 16000 dollars!!!!! The thing is that they are still giving permanent visa on diplomas I think. They shoud make an agreement together AHPRA and ANMAC cause it does not make sense that they give you the permanent visa because you are a nurse than they block your registration. We will end up working as a waiter than. pffff. I am from Malta, I got uk registration. It took me a year but because I was not in a hurry. (eventually I did not use it). Its not that they were thinking of refusing me but I had to send different papers all the time and I applied as a diploma nurse at that time. Now I applied with the bachelor degree but I do not know if its like the australian degree as they say and their assessment is taking ages. In another blog there were people saying that they got to do the bridging although they have a degree too. pfff this lack of information is killing me. I am leaving to oz in a month time and I want to know where I stand. I emailed to my case officer but she is on leave till next week. So cannot do much!!

  4. What I do understand is that bridging program is 3 months or so. The thing is from other blogs I ve seen that people with bachelor degrees were referred to bridging too. So I hope thats not the case. They should update us, those that already have their application in progress. This waiting does not make sense without updates. Hope that everyone keeps updating the forum at least so we will know what is happening.

  5. sorry, that was for enrolled nurses, this is for Registered Nurses

    http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Registration-and-Endorsement/International/criteria-nurses.aspx

Yes I saw it, it says that diploma is not accepted anymore for registration. In addition I was reading another blog and they were saying that alot of nurses are being refused registration and they have to do the bridging, which by the way is way expensive. I got worried. :(

  6. It seems they changed the international nurses section. I hope that they wont refuse those who ve been waiting for 5 months. Its funny how they left our application pending till the new changes.. So this means that no Diploma nurses are accepted anymore in Australia. Just degree nurses and now are they going to hurry the process or we need to wait another 5 months to know something!!! I am frustrated and tired of all the pending and waiting.

  7. i've just rang them, customer services said "all components have been confirmed all we are waiting on is your ID check" when i asked what that actually meant they said "as you are aware, all international nurses must present themselves at an AHPRA office in person with proof of ID etc" but then added "i'm not a registration officer so am not able to confirm this 100% i am just looking at what it says in your file" they also repeated the mantra "as you know we have had a high level of international applications that has caused a significant delay in processing and the nursing & midwifery board are also reviewing the assessment process which is increasing these delays".........still no LOE

hi, but do you have a case officer assigned? You should ask him directly. I dont know what is happening they usually give it in 6 weeks. I have a case officer, she told me that they assessing the qualifications. I will ask for an update next week. Can they refuse our registration although we were accepted by ANMAC?

  8. i think we've got to the apathy stage! visa's and jobs but no registration. The crumb of comfort is knowing that they're still registering diploma trained nurses

hi, but you said you do have a bsc too so why are they going to assess you only on the diploma? I sent mine with documents end of september and still waiting. I was allocated a case officer 2 weeks ago. Hope they decide fast because I am tired of waiting and leaving to australia in march so I will surely need it.

Keep updated so we ll see if they are giving any LOE or not. To keep hopes up. :)

  9. Hi there

I heard from one of the agencies that you no longer need to complete AHPRA registration for international Nurses in Australia. They said you can apparently

sent your proof of address and I.D from whatever country you are and you will be fully registered. Can anyone confirm this please, I tried to search it on AHPRA website and couldn't find it.

I think you should recheck again because it does not make sense..

  10. Brisbane received my documents for registration on oct 28th its over 10 weeks now and im still waiting for my LOE, when i ring they tell me its under assessment and they are unable to give me a time frame. Aaarrrggg so frustrating.

Same here. It is really a disappointment due that their usual time frame is way to over.!!!! hope we ll get it soon.

  11. Hi Ali,

thanks for your reply. Sorry I am aware I will get a letter of eligibility. I was just wondering if the email saying my application was in its final stages means I will receive it soon or is this what AHPRA say?

Hi did you get your LOE yet? I applied 27th september and they verified it 1st october 2013. They say its under assessment but still waiting. Its frustrating. I applied in Victoria.

  12. Hi did you receive your LOE. I applied end of september and they verified it 1st october 2013. Its under assessment they told me on the phone but its taking too long. We are leaving to melbourne in March. Hope I get the registration by then.

  13. Hi, they received my application on the 1st october. They sent me 3 weeks ago that they needed some further documents. I called them to tell them that the documents needed were in their possession with my old surname and the lady on the phone said that she can see alot of documents under my old surname and she will inform my officer. From then I did not hear a thing and when I called they told me that its under assessment. I hope the officer isn't still waiting for my documents. It is impossible to reach them directly. Its confusing and tiring. I cant leave before I get the registration. I got my visa but this is keeping me on hold now!!! Now I am worried that they go out on Christmas holidays too.

  14. HI,

they sent me that I have missing documents after 8 weeks ( about time) anyway, did anyone used the ANMAC documents to register to APHRA because I sent them everything again and they should have the anmac file too (which was sent by ANMAC) too and they are not using it. All the documents that they requested are in that file. What can i do?

  15. Hi, I dont know my CO because she/he never contacted me. I just know because I called and they told me that I was allocated to that team. I dont know what to expect. If I may ask why did she contact you for further documents?

Team 34 here! CO initials are PM. From your signature though, you're on queu for one?

if you're on the same team, would you mind giving CO initials? Mine was assigned just today.

She seemed dynamic and prompt as she replied to my email within an hour it was sent.

Goodluck to all of us awaiting an early Christmas surprise;)!

  16. I applied on the 10th sept too. Heard nothing from the CO yet. But when I called they told me that if a CO is allocated they wont get in contact with us unless they need something. so waiting....

    Hi all,

We applied on the 10th September. CO allocated today Brisbane Team 33!

I'd better go book our medical...... Excited!!!!

it won't be long now September gang

  17. So been hearing the ppl from august have been getting grants now - not be long before we get CO assigned. Anybody heard anything yet?

Also our agent won't give up log in details for evisa - in regards to booking a medical do we need to do it thru evisa? Thanks

    et

Yes they started to give august grants apparently. I think CO are allocated around the 8th week. Sometimes it take to long to get the grant and sometimes they give it directly. I did my medicals soon after I lodged my visa and they were cleared in 2 weeks. If I were you I would insist for the log in details otherwise it is going to delay your grant.

September applicants keep us updated so everyone will know at what point the grants are .

    Thanks

  18. hi everyone,

Can anyone help me with the aphra application. In question 9 they ask for identification documents and to at least one document from each of the categories. Category A is Commencement of identity in Australia. I lodged for the visa but still waiting for a CO. Does it mean I have to wait for my visa before I apply aphra. I dont understand :(
