Hope someone can help I am a UK citizen who has been working in Australia for almost 5 years. I was originally on my wife’s 457 visa until we became permanent residents 18 months ago. We planned to get citizenship later this year. As we have now had a baby boy we plan to return to the UK next year for 2 years to be with family and decide which is the better place to be (The old conundrum!). We would like to try and cash in one of our super funds to take the cash home and if we both are citizens this is not possible so… what I need to know is if one of us stays as PR rather than citizen and we do decide to come back to Oz is it easy for the partner to get back in with the significant other being a citizenship and our son being born here? I know its kinda having your cake and eating it but what the hay! Any help gratefully received. Shnoode.
