If you want to apply under category 261313 - Software engineer , just make sure that you add the tasks mentioned in ACS for this category. Thanks batman21. I currently have Ielts score 7 ( have reappeared aiming to get higher score of 8). Although I have submitted my EOI application, will be updating in case i get extra points (Ielts , partner skills) but my agent told 60 points haven't got invitation till now.Fingers crossed , hoping for good ielts score and sooner partner skill assessment results.

My migration agent told me that i will fall under the category of Software Engineer ( my work experience being in Software Testing).Moreover if i go for skill assessment under any other category , it will take me 3 more months to get a response.So i am relying on partner's skill assessment and ielts score 8 ( current is 7 :-( ).

Hi All, I am planning to file EOI in 2-3 days for Visa 189 under skill category Software Engineer (261313). My current points are 60 (inclusive of ACS , age , Ielts). Partner skill assessment is still pending , so will be editing EOI for additional 5 points for partner skills to be added. Does anyone know whether there are chances of getting invitation at 60 points in this nominated occupation category? Has anyone applied lately under this category Software Engineer (261313)? Also, Can we update our EOI application with latest Ielts results in the process? Thanks

Thanks..I saw that report ...I currently hold 60 points..but Partner skill assessment is in process so will claim those 5 points as well. Will be going ahead with EOI and as soon as partner skill assessment is done , will edit to add those 5 points.

Hi, Is anyone aware of the new changes introduced by ACS for calculating number of years as per skill assessment process. e.g If someone has education/graduation in a particular stream and it matches your current job in ICT , a minimum of 2 yrs experience (otherwise 4, 6) will be deducted from overall overseas work ex. DIAC will calculate points as per number of years which ACS will give after this calculation. Regards Khushi

Hi All, I am a software tester with 6 yrs of work experience.I want to get my ACS Skill assessment done under category "Software Engineer". I have reference letters from my employers mentioning my Roles and Responsibilities but my agent says it needs to be modified as per Software engineer. Has anyone got ACS done for SE recently? Can someone help , how to prepare/modify reference letter to qualify as Software Engineer? It would be of great help, if someone can provide guidance. Thanks Regards Khushi

Hi My husband has been working in Australia for 1 year( he has bene sent by his company in India for a long term project) . He has 5+ yrs of work experience in IT in SAP domain but he has done his engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation. I have come to Australia in OCt 2012 and also has 6 years of IT experience and Engineering in Computer Science.I am still looking for job in AUstralia. We want to apply for Permanent Residency in Australia but our confusion is who should be the primary applicant among us. I have all the documents ready for ACS . But since i am not working in Australia , can that be an issue while applying for Expression of Interest for PR? Also , how can we obtain the 5 points for Partener SKills. Does partener also need to get ACS done? IELTS need to be given by both of us? Thanks
