  1. Hi everyone thank you for all your help. We've now settled on Pascoe Vale due to the positive reviews etc. I'm still a little curious to find out more regarding schools and whether there is a difference between Pascoe Vale north, central or south. If anyone has any comments please let me know. thanks for all your help everyone I'm actually starting to relax again! Donna x
  2. Also does anyone know anything about westmeadows and broadmeadows as areas for commuting to and from port melbourne and also for schools. I've looked on street advisor and the comments seem to be a few years ago. Thanks Donna x
  3. Thanks BB. Does anyone know what the schools are like in Pascoe Vale been trying to check the websites out but they all seem to be under construction/updated. Thanks Donna
  4. Thanks BB. Any views on Pascoe Vale as an area to travel from as we've looked around bayside and can see that we can't afford more than a two bed apartment. thanks donna
  5. Been checking street advisor and checking out the schools in the area. My husband doesn't mind driving/stuck in traffic but I'd hate for him to be commuting an hour each way. At the moment he only has a 10/15 min commute so anything up to around 45 mins in rush hour would be better I also have to think about when I get back to work as I don't want to be doing what I do in the uk morning and after school club and never seeing my son.
  6. Thanks everyone we will start looking at different area does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know anything about Roxburgh Park or Greenvale?
  7. we have a 9 year old son too. We do have a limited budget due to it being only my husband working for the first few months until our son gets settled. Ideally no more the 380/390 per week for a 3bedder as family are already planning their trips over! We've looked around Port Melbourne and they seem to be older style of properties which is fine if the interior is modern but we are struggling as our budget isn't the biggest. I'm on Domain every night looking around at different areas but I'm getting to my wits end with it as everytime we find somewhere we like the commute to Port Melbourne is around an hour or more which means I'll see my hubby less than I do now! If anyone has any suggests I would be grateful. Donna x
  8. My husband has been accepted on 457visa and we are planning the move as we speak. The issue we have is that his job will be based in Port Melbourne and so we fall in love with Point Cook/Sanctuary Lakes area but have heard lots of differing views on the travel time during rush hour can someone let me know how long it takes on an average day. Also are there any other areas closer to Port Melbourne that are just as nice?
