Is living together for 12 months the only way to do this? I work for a global company with offices in Adelaide and have asked them to transfer me and sponsor me... As yet no decision on that. The de-facto visa suggests you have to have lived together for 12 months unless you can prove a reason why this was not possible. I don't think either of of us qualify for the working visa.

I apologise if this subject has been discussed before... My partner and I just want to be able to love and live in the same place. I am from the UK and she is an Australian citizen. A partner visa seems impossible. So many blocks and barriers. Can any one please give us some advise. We have looked at the immigration site for AU and the small print says we have to have lived together form12 months. How can we do that when we are in different countries.. We are becoming very disheartened and feel there is no way forward. Can some one please let me know if there is a light at the end if the tunnel.
