I applied for a working holiday visa which was granted. Just before I was due to leave for oz i was arrested at UK customs after travelling back from thaliand. In my suitcase was an immitation taser (not a real one) which was brught one drunken night as a joke item. Me and the people I was with were using it on each other, just generally messing around. It was of low voltage so could not do any harm to anyone. Sadly the dumb UK law see this as a firearm!! even though in reality it is nothing of the sort. I was ordered to do community work, no prison sentence or suspended sentence. I spoke to someone who does visa checks who said i can still travel to oz on this current visa, but to just declare it on the border forms. However, i am unsure if this is accurate. Does this affect my chances of getting in?
