  1. My family and i are in the early stages of applying for a Skilled Independent Visa 189 (Electical) and have a few questions and would like honest and unbiast answers to. 1. how much should we be paying for a visa agent? 2. is it worth doing the overseas (off shore) trianing in the UK to gain an Electrical 'A Liecence' for Austrialia costing £3000? 3. What are the job opertunities within the electrical maintenace industries (Manufacturing, servicing and facilities management)? 4. is Austrialia as good as people say? My partner and i had a 3 week holiday in perth in 2007 when the exchange rate was $2.4 = £1 and we lived like kings but with the exchange rate so poor at the moment is the cost of living affecting people like it is in the UK? any advice would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks Rich
  2. Thank you for your reply, I think what we will do is set up a holiday rental for the first few weeks and have a good drive around the areas we have flagged up and then get a better feel of the place. Out of curiosity why returning to the UK? I like to think we are moving out there fore the 'better life' but don't want to be too deluded, My family are giving me a hard time about leaving so i need to be sure it is worth a try.
  3. Hello, we are looking to move to Perth within the next 12 months and have started the ball rolling and when it comes to where to start looking for an area to live there is only so much Internet research you can do. Basically we are a family of 4 Myself, Partner and two children aged 5 & 1 and I want to be as organized as possible for the sake of the kids so my aim is to at least know roughly where we want to live. We have definitely decided on Perth but know need to narrow the search on where to look to rent as we won't have a lot of time to look around when we first arrive. So honest recommendations’ on Suburbs please, we are looking for a rental of 350 - 400 Aus Dollars PW for a 2/3 bedroom house, reasonably modern and in close proximity to the beach, parks and schools (which I don't think will be a problem from what I’ve seen so far) I have come across 'Butler' & 'Secret Harbor' which I like the look of so far. Is it better to go for one of these new development sites or are we missing some hidden gems in some of the more established areas? At the end of the day just looking for a social and relaxing atmosphere full of family friendly activities. Any advice is appreciated. Theresa :0)
