  1. Thank you guys for all your replies. He has lots of training, but Rio Tinto didnt give him certificates, they classed them as site based. He does have all the experience on letterhead from Rio Tinto (Alcan) but not certificates. They lost everyones records when a new computer system was installed and have only been able to type them on letter head, although he has 4 pages with all experience from RT on. I will let him know about the mines. It looks a bit gloomy at the moment, what a shame.
  2. Hi Mad Cow, yes we live here have done for a few years. No, he doesnt know anyone at Rio Tinto neither. Had plenty of contacts in the UK, just wish we did here.
  3. Hi sorry, we live in Australia and he is looking for a job in the mines here. He has done bobcat, forklifts, frontloaders etc all at Rio Tinto, but they would never give certificates, so he just has experience.
  4. Hi my husband is hoping to get a job in the mines. He has worked since he was 16. Never been out of work. Roofer by trade and worked for Rio Tinto. So has been in heavy industry. He has lots of maintenance experience and can put his hand to anything. Any recommendations please? Where to apply. Which is the best company? He is 48 years old. Will he be taken on at this age as a hard worker? Thank you. We dont know many people here and dont have any contacts. Any advice would be great.
