  1. Blueray, might it be possible that you ask the medical centre to carry out your medical examinations and hold on to the results pending you finding out your HAP ID? Once you give the clinic the number they can zoom the info off, thus saving time. Its worth a try.......

Vava, Thank you for your suggestion.

I tried that as well but medical centre told me that they need the HAP letter from the DIBP.

Anyway for all....I got the HAP letter and document checklist from DIBP(DIAC). I have also done my emedical online and got the printout of the reference letter.

Everything is fine but a new issue is......my spouse is a non-migrant (I was the only applicant), however, DIAC has sent the HAP letter stating my spouse as secondary applicant and allotted him a HAP ID. Now again I don't know how to resolve this issue. In fact, I am unable to do my medical as I am not sure whether I need to get my spouse's medical done or not as a secondary applicant. I know that he needs to do medical but as a non-migrant and not as a secondary applicant.

    Can anyone advise me please:

In the document checklist following clauses are given.

"Penal (Police Clearance) Certificates from Australia - Required for each applicant

and non-migrating dependent/s such as spouse and dependent children over the age of 16 who

have resided in Australia for a cumulative total of one year or more in the last ten years." -------Do they mean my sponsor who is a citizen of Australia needs to give his National police check too?

"Permanent Residency Health Assessment - required for all applicants and non-migrating dependents such as spouse and dependent children"-----Does it mean my son(sponsor), citizen of Australia needs to give his medical too?

OR is it applicable for overseas migrant and non-migrant family members only.

Lots of thanks to all who are helping me.

    Regards

  2. Thanks Barry and Alan for your help.

My sponsor spoke to DIAC this morning (Australia). They said they can not speak to him as he is not an authorised person. Last year when I was in Australia , I went to their local office to inquire about my acknowledgment letter. They suggested me to call parent visa centre. When I called, a lady on the other side told me she can only speak to sponsor. My sponsor spoke to her. Now they can not speak to my sponsor. However, they told my sponsor that if no dates are mentioned in the email, then I need to send the documents within 28 days/4 weeks.

Alan, I have sent them emails through every possible way. I have sent them email via general skilled migration post lodgment query as well as via parent visa post lodgment query (I found one). I have sent them mail for HAP ID (subject HAP LTR and client reference number), I have also sent them mail for not getting the documents (different subject line). I am not even getting any automated mail.

They told my sponsor it will take 2 weeks for them to reply to my mail.

I have already sent them my Form 80. But I am concerned only about the medical as I don't know when will I get my HAP ID.

I will call them and try to get the HAP ID. I will keep updating about this matter.

Thanks to both of you once again.

    Regards,

  3. I had sent a query to parent visa department stating I have not received any letter or document checklist and to which address they sent it. They replied they had sent it to my email address whereas, earlier they wrote they had sent it to my postal address. Which one do I take in consideration? I have never received any acknowledgment via email? Is it ever possible that someone sends me an email and I don't get it for some technical reason? I am really worried now as they sent me an email stating that my file will soon go for assessment and that they need all the documents. I have tried my best to get HAP ID, (requested parent visa, requested local medical centre, requested local high commission)....but failed. I know I can send PCC and form 80 but what will happen to medical. Can any one advise as what should I do now? When I requested Parent visa department to resend the document checklist ...they wrote they will once they locate my physical file. I am really stressed. Please help me if you can.

  4. Hi

I am presuming that you are in a country which has the eHealth arrangement with Oz ie UK

if so, your medicals examination results are sent directly to Oz online and if you were given an A rating by the participating doctor, they will receive an OK from Oz within a very short time, sometimes just minutes

    hope this helps

    Barry

Yes Barry you are right we have eHealth arrangement with Oz. I am not worried about my medical as I am a young mom 50 :biggrin:Only thing I am worried about is the letter and the document checklist because you never know if they have some special document listed for me .Anyway thank you once again for your kind suggestion.

  5. Hi Blueray

i'm very sorry to hear that you are having problems with immi

The only thing that I can suggest to get your medicals moving is to email immi and apply for your HAP IDs which is the reference you use to make an appointment with the approved medical examiner

If you email them with the reference HAPLTR and your file reference in the subject line, you should get a response very quickly

I know it doesn't solve your problems entirely but it would be a start

    cheers Barry

Thanks Barry. Thank you so much. Your suggestion is really helpful. I have written them a mail requesting them to send me the letter via email. I will also send this mail you have suggested in order to speed up the process of documentation.

I was also wondering which all documents they must have asked...anything other than PCC, medical and Form 80 ?

  6. Hi Alan,

Today I received an email from DIAC stating .."A letter and checklist requesting you to undertake the checks required to assess your application had been sent to you previously. You are now requested to provide the documents on the checklist as your application will soon be allocated for assessment."

But I have not received any letter. Same thing happened with my acknowledgment letter. They said they had sent me the acknowledgment through post but I never received it. They did not resend it. The issue here is I need the letter through email as I am not getting postal mails but they stated if I have not received it they will resend the letter. I fail to understand this that inspite of sending number of mails to DIAC for communicating me through email they are sending letters to me. How do I request them to send me the document checklist through email?

Please advise. I can not proceed for medical without the letter. I have checked it with the authorised medical centre.

Anyone please advise if there is any other way that I can do my medical and send to DIAC.

  7. Quick question.

Parents applied for a 173 in Aug 2012 and are yet to get a CO.

Flying to Australia in December with a return booked for August (just a random return date, they'll change it later).

Their intention is to travel for 6-9 months whilst waiting for the visa to come through and will fly out for it to be granted.

Which tourist visa should they come to Australia on in December? Dad's worried if they come on the 3 month one immi might question their return date.

    Hi Nicolac34,

Your parents can go to Australia on long visitors visa for parents. On this visa they can stay up to 12 months at a time. http://www.immi.gov.au/legislation/amendments/2012/121124/lc24112012-02.htm. refer to this link. This visa is usually given for 3 yrs or 5 yrs. If you need any further info please post a query. I will assist you.

  9. It is 12 months accumulated over years not 12 months in one year.

You have to do a federal police clearance for Australia if you have been here for a total of 12 months or more in the last several years at the time you get a case officer. My parents applied for theirs in Australia when their total visits added up to more than 12 months. However it is very quick to get (it took a week when they applied in Perth) so it may be worth delaying applying until you get a case officer

Thank you very much Learjet. Yes I will be waiting for the request from the case officer and then I will go ahead for Federal check.

  10. Can any one please tell me that for character check : we need to give it for any country we lived in for 12 months or more. Does that 12 months mean accumulated 12 months in past 6 or 7 years or 12 months in one year? I mean total 12 months in several years or 12 months in one years time?

As for me I lived in Australia 1 month or a little more every year for past 6 years and now going to live for another 6 months. So in total it is going to be more than 12 months. Do I have to give the Federal police check too?

Allan please if you kindly let me know so that I can apply for federal police check up while staying in Australia.

  11. My parents have been told to 'provide their itinerary' (as they are currently in Australia) so their case officer can plan when to grant their visa while they are off-shore. They did their medicals and police clearances before getting a CO. It has taken 15 days from getting the case officer to do the AoS and for the 2nd visa payment to be processed. We did fulfil each new request within 24 hours of being asked, and I stayed in touch with the AoS contact at Centrelink, but it's amazing how quick it has been! My parents are feeling rather stunned at the speed, after more than 14 months of anxious waiting. They leave on Sunday for 3 days in Bali and will hopefully re-enter Australia as permanent residents!

    Hi Learjet,

Would you please tell me how do PVC communicate with you or your parents? Do they communicate through postal mail and ask you to send hard copies through postal mail or they communicate through email?

I am really facing challenges ever since I had applied for my 173. I applied in Jan'13. The money was taken from credit card in Feb'13. I sent query for acknowledgment March'13 end. The day I sent query...next day i received a reply in mail that my acknowledgment has been sent today(the day after my query) by post. I never received it. Now when i sent a 1022 form for correspondence address change, they say they can not open the PDF file and asked me to send it by post. I again sent jpeg, png, word document and PDF file attachments along with the scanned images of the form pasted in the email and also mentioned that I have sent the hard copies by mail. Still they sent me a mail asking to send them hard copies of 1022 form.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTANDING THIS. I am really confused as why PVC is always sending me documents through mail and asking me to send them documents through mail when both of us are actually communicating through email for all these information.

Allen please if you can guide me.

  12. Hi there,

Having very recently gone through the process of applying for parent visas I would say if you can afford it definitely apply for the permanent 143 straightaway.

I applied for 173 first and the completion of the second application for 143 was tortuous - all those forms again. Luckily since I had applied soon after being granted

173, my medical was still within the year and didn't have to be repeated. Would not have done it that way if I had known how stressful it would be.........

All well now though, packers coming tomorrow, flight booked for Sept 5th !

Good luck to everyone in the process,

    Grammie[/quote

I am in same boat. Please tell me which Form I have fill when apply from 173 to 143. We have to fly 23. July.

    Hi Piramida,

You must refer to booklet 3 you can download it from here,http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1129.pdf . Also refer to page number 35 of booklet 3, it is written that you need to provide all the documents you had provided for 173. Only exception is you do not have to do the medical again but character check is required.."generally you are not required to undergo further health checks" (refer to page 11). You need to fill up Form 47PT and Form 40.

Wish you all the best for 23rd July.

  13. Hi everyone

Visa granted this morning so its all systems go now. I had already booked my flight for 7 August and was getting concerned as the 2nd VAC payment was made on 19 June, however all is well. The shipping company are coming on 1 August, car sold, as well as some furniture I am not taking. Hopefully things will continue to go smoothly. Soooo excited that it is now finally happening. Hope all you folks who are on the home straight so to speak won't have too much longer to wait.

    Cath

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you got your visa pretty soon. Wish you all the best. I have a question to all those who got the visa. Does DIAC send you medical and PCC request via email or via post? They have sent me my acknowledgement via post and I never got it. I did not get any acknowledgment in my email.

  14. Hi All,

I'm an Australian Citizen, looking to apply for my mom long-term 3 years visitor visa. She has been in Australia for 3 months 4 years ago, and satisfied all the visa's conditions. I tried to find an application for Long term tourist visa but unable to do so, at the moment we just use the normal tourist visa with my invitation letter attached.

Does anyone know if I should apply as a normal tourist visa and the person inviting her is myself and my partner / or a different form, will the 3 years visa be granted automatically? I'm confused as how the immigration department will know if the applicant wish to apply for short/long term visa?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have recently been to Australia on 3 yrs visitor's visa (with maximum 1 yr stay at a time). The procedure I followed was, I got an invitation letter and the bank statement from my son , a citizen of Australia. I applied for normal visitor's visa (with my documents too). There is an option in the visa form for the tenure you want to reside in Australia (3 months/6 months/1 year). I opted for 1 year. They had contacted me for getting my medical done. I did my medical and got the 3 yr visa with a maximum stay of 1 yr at a time. But I had applied for a CPV before applying for this visa. However, DIAC is giving 3 yrs visa to parents who have not applied for CPV also.

If you need any further info please let me know.

  15. Question for Alan, if you are out there - I am wondering whether I ought to stress about getting acknowledgement of our application as my daughter sent it recorded delivery from Sydney about seven weeks ago, with a money order (so no tracking via visa bills possible). Is it normal to fork over £2000 and not get a receipt?

Thanks Alan or anyone else who has info.

    Hi Fisher1,

I had applied around 70 days back and not yet received my acknowledgement. But I inquired to parent visa center and they said they had already dispatched the acknowledgement on 29th of March. So you need not worry about it. Things are getting delayed it seems. Good luck.

  16. Thank you Val,

Sorry for the previous post for Denzil53 : was intended to be a private post. - He will not see this one - most likely.

Sorry. I am at work and I was in rush!

Anyway : I was wondering if 2 month short of residency at the moment of the application will be such a no-no for DIAC.

But lately, searching the internet I run into another issue:

Somebody was saying that DIAC disagrees with only one parent applying for CPV.

But there is nothing like that anywhere on the immigration site.

My husband will not apply now: he has some business to finish for a while, so for now only me will be applying.

I am so confused! Why will that be a problem? Can I apply alone?

Does anybody knows any case like that/

    Best regards,

    Daniela

    Dear Daniela,

There's absolutely no problem with only one of the parents applying. I have also applied alone and my husband will be staying back for is business. When you fill up the Form the option is given whether you are applying alone or your spouse is also applying and if your spouse is not applying then you got to give the reason in a separate sheet.

The only condition is you can not sponsor your husband in spouse visa before 5 years from your 143 (the day you arrive in Australia), however, he can always apply later for 173 or 143.

I hope this clears your confusion.

  17. Thank you once again Linday. You are absolutely right, in case I get a one year stay 676 visa, I must inform DIAC about my change of circumstances. This was not there in my mind at all. Anyway I will be back by November which will be around 8 months and not a full year. So I think I will be offshore while my CPV is granted.

  18. Thank you very much Linday. My son is working with ADF and he is a citizen there. I have applied for CPV 173 though, but I do not have any file number to provide them with. Will the postal evidence do?Though I have applied offshore, but my son posted it from Australia through Auspost and he has the receipt with him. Can I provide that receipt for evidence of my CPV application?

I am very happy to know that now they have 3-5 year visa for parents of Australian PRs and citizens. Also the info of sending mail for invitation has helped me a lot. Thank you once again.

  19. Hi All,

I have applied for 173 CPV around 10 days back and not yet received any acknowledgment (as it takes around a month).

    My questions here are:

    1. If I apply for 676, 12 months visa can I give the reference of my 173 CPV application(the postal evidence) and will they consider it?

    2. Is there a chance of issuing me a 12 months stay visa?(when I've applied for 173 CPV)

Please reply as I will apply for 676 accordingly.

    Moreover,

    3. what reason of stay should be given which will make the application stronger? business reason or personal reason?

I own a small business here, earlier I was working as a teacher. DIAC has all the details as I had been earlier on 676 giving leave letter from my school. Previously I held several 676 and been to Australia but never stayed more than 1 month.

    Please reply!!!!!!!Thanx.

  20. Thank you very much Learjet for a quick response.

Actually I was waiting for the 1st VAC charge because once it is registered I want to lodge a 676 tourist visa for 12 months. I believe they give you 12 months only when you have applied for CPV or in special circumstances. I got to go to Australia in March first week sometime and I need to apply for 676 at least 15 days prior to my journey date. This is why I'm so much worried about 1st VAC charge of my CPV application.
