Does anybody have experience of getting decent travel insurance for my family for our single trip to Oz with family members with pre-existing conditions? I got a decent quote online, but when I ring up to declare (both my DH and LO have conditions that need declaring), it tripled my policy cost..... Any help or advice on good companies to use would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Tracie

I am struggling to distinguish between the two very different quotes. can anyone tell me which they chose and why? We have a very expensive shipment due to some antique furniture and I'm looking at spending up to £1k - eeek - so I want to make the right decision!! Thanks in advance Tracie

Thanks for the advice. Sat down with a big glass of red and did nothing but watch a bit of TV last night. Tonight when finally DH and I are home at the same time, will sit down and make a plan. Think I'll feel better with a plan written down to follow - bit anal like that I guess. My mantra is that we are going regardless of whether its all packed or not I guess. I thought we couldn't do much packing, that the shipping company had to do it all?? Thanks Tracie

We leave for Oz on 2nd March and I only finish work tomorrow. Have a housegold to pack up, a dog to send and a 3year old to manage. I only see a mountain in front of me and am feeling so stressed today. I need to do so much before we go!! I know about lists and being organised etc, but I just feel completely out of control at the minute and needed to post somewhere where I hope people will understand??? Thanks Tracie

I'm moving my family (hubby and 3yr old) to Sydney on 2nd March. I'm actually from Sydney but have been living here for the last 13 years and have finally convinced my husband to make the move. before you dismiss me as knowing everything, I have been gone so long that I am very concerned about getting established in Oz. I suspect I will have some sort of credit rating in Oz from years ago as I was 25 when I left but it will be in my maiden name and I have maintained a bank account all this time with minimal money in it. Will I register for credit? We will need to get car loans and a rental property and hopefully buy a TV after our shipping arrives, but I am unsure as to whether we'll qualify for any credit, will we? We were planning on selling our house but it looks like we might need to rent so we'll have very little capital initailly. Will my hubby's status as a permanemt resident (spousal visa) as opposed to a citizen work against us getting anything in our joint names? I have so many questions, are there many others who have done this in a similar position? Thanks!!

Hiya, we are booked to move to Sydney in March I have loads of questions around getting ourselves set up to buy a car and we'll be looking to rent a house after our shipping arrives. How do we prove that we are viable to give credit to as we'll have no credit record in Oz will we? Thanks in advance Tracie xx
