  1. Hi cheesecake12 seems to be a few of us in the same timeframe at the moment, I recently spoke with my CO but forgot to ask on up to date processing times as was so stoked that im being processed for subclass 100!! I dont really want to hassle my CO (DP) who has been really helpful to date and dont want to rock the boat! Fingers crossed it has moved from 8-9 months to 6 months so I can start planning the big off.. good luck

I want to email my c/o (LG) and ask. I do think i have bugged her enough with questions in the past and i also dont want to rock the boat. it would be nice to know which subclass im a being processed for as im going for a goverment job that requires me to have the 100. It would also be nice to know about the new processing times as waiting sucks lol.

Congrats on the subclass 100 btw.

  2. I contacted with my CO today and asked her about my medicals. She said she received my clear medical just 2 days after I completed them and there is no outstanding matters in my application and she will contact with me as soon as she has news for me. She is a really good CO. Answered every question I had and she is always very straight forward.

    Hi Nikcos.

can I ask who your c/o is? I applied at the exact same day as you. just wondering if you had spoken to your c/o and if they had mentioned anything about what seems to be the updated processing time on the immigration website.

    http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/5.0.htm

I think it said 8/9 months before for the 309/100 visa if i remember correctly but it seems to be 5/6 months now.

  3. I'd go over to Twitter and use Twitter to message each other (either private or public or direct message) and print off all of that if you can't get logs on imessage. Or FB (on your phones) private messages and print those off from a computer when you need them.

Hmm in the settings it says you can send messages to a Mac and iPad. Perhaps if you use one of those you can save the ones sent to that. I can't see any way (yet) to log and print from a phone.

You need to find something that records these convos so you can print them off.

The application is being sent in soon so switching to twitter I don't think would help. It's would have been good to do that a few months ago.

  4. You can do this. As to if it will help, I can't comment. But I have read of people submitting and if you are needing to show proof and this could help, I can't see the harm.

I don't use imessage. Have you a setting turned on so that you've logged all your chat messages? And if so, can you download them and then print them?

I suggest if you don't know about imessage you do some research online and search specifically for getting the data copied etc.

I'd suggest using landline phone and getting an itemised phone bill from BT (plus calls are really cheap to Aus these days). So they can see your home number at your address calling her home number.

I have got all my phone bill for the last year from Vodafone. And highlighted every phone call and text message. But as my partner and both got iPhone in October we started using iMessage. These kind of messages don't appear on phone bills as they are Wap data. That's why I'd like to download then as it just looks like we stopped talking after October. We now use FaceTime to instead of now calls as we live in different countries and the only way you can get that history is by screenshots. Which you could do for iMessage but you'd be talking hundreds screen shots. It just doesn't seem practical.

  5. Hi.

My partner and I live away from each other at the moment. We use iMessage to stay in contact everyday. We are applying for a defo visa. I'd like to download my iMessage history and use it as evidence to send in with our application. My questions are.

    Has anyone done this?

does anyone know how to do this?

    Is it a good idea?

    thanks.

  6. Sorry for not being clear - but we haven't been granted yet. Have just been advised that our CO requires no further information. So we've satisfied all the requirements, other than the police and meds. When they come back clean, we're in the clear. We're on the 8-9 month waiting period, which will mean a grant no later than end of July if all goes well. Have a look at my signature for further details. FYI CO came back last week and asked for police and meds to be provided.

Good luck, give me a shout if you have any further queries.

    Cheers!

I guess you kinda feel like the hard part is over though? I seen your bit at the bottom once I had posted my reply. Seemed to move rather quickly to begin with then it just all slows down. 8-9 month. That's long. I guess it could be worst. I'm just away from my OH half just now as shes in australia and im in the uk, the longer the visa process takes the longer I have to go without seeing her. Which sucks.

  7. Hi Cheesecake,

We faced the same dilemma when my OH submitted his visa app. Throughout the 12 months prior to application, I worked (and had a flat) in London and he worked and had a house in West Country. We didn't have a clear cut living arrangement, but spent a good chunk of our time together and travelling backwards and forwards. We also had a fair slab of paperwork to back this all up.

We submitted the app, and our CO asked for more info - he requested that we show more evidence particularly pertaining to the bit about "live together, or do not live separately and apart on a permanent basis". We threw a bit more paperwork his way and satisfied his request.

You need to remember that when the CO looks at your application, they are looking at the evidence to the 12months preceeding application date, mostly. Definitely add the other stuff in there, but IMHO it's as important (if not, more) that you show how you've maintained your relationship since your OH has gone back to Aus recently.

    Good luck with it all!

Oh, and yes, I agree with the others re not front-loading your app with police checks. Wait until your CO asks for them.

    Hi.

thanks for the reply. Everyone on here as been so helpful. It's great. It good to know you where in a similar situation and still managed to get it granted. Congrats on that btw.

  8. what we did when we are at your sort of stage is go to this free migration information night run by national Australia bank. they more or less a sales pitch from moving companies agents the bank etc but u get a free ten min assessment.

Thats a great idea. I'm look into one in my area.

  9. u don't have to worry about bring approved before April :) we applied from UK in October straight forward case told after a week we would be granted July subject to medical and police check. why are u getting your police check now btw u are not supposed to request that until asked. there will be a risk of it expiring before u are granted

it doesn't cost that much and they will hopefully ask for it at one point. So just thought may as well get it out the way ASAP.

  10. Considering how long you have been together (2.5 yrs) and if you have evidence from all that time, photos etc, and now also have bank accounts, phone records showing regular contact over a prolonged period of time, the fact that you have lived together for 11 months, as well as shorter periods prior to that, you may well have a case. Presumably you would have enough evidence to show you are 'on-going'. It is a lot of money though, so if I were you I would spend the relatively small amount, get all your 'evidence' together, and make an appointment with a registered MARA agent where they will be able to assess things for you.

Doing the application yourself is doable, so spending just that little extra to get the advice you need would probably be prudent just for peace of mind.

That is a good idea. Puts my mind at ease a little knowing someone else thinks we may at least have a case. By any chance do you know how much it would cost to have a MARA agent look at it. This venture is costing a small fortune, one we are more than happy to pay but at some point your money just runs out. I have just booked flight to Aus in April to go on holiday with my partner, I am presuming the application wouldn't be granted by then if it is going to be and understand I must be off shore when/if it is granted so I have told them that in my application.

  11. I think Victoria is one of the more difficult states to register in. u going to lodge in UK or Australia ?

From the UK, within the next 2 weeks. Just waiting on the police check coming back.

  12. I know the booklet back to front and this seems to be a grey area. It does say you don't have to have the full 12 months in certain situations. All together we have over 12 moths. But the most we have in a row is approaching 11 months. I was hoping the fact we have been in a relationship for 2 1/2 years would swing it in our favour. We have piles upon piles of evidence, we aren't short on that stuff to show how often we talk, call, FaceTime, statements from family members.

  13. Hi.

I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice. My partner and I are applying for a defo relationship visa.

we have been together since July 2010, so almost 2 1/2 years. We met over 5 years ago in Europe whilst she was travelling. We kept iin contact and got together as a couple when I came to Australia on a working holiday visa in 2010.

we lived together for 3 months then in Australia.. So couldn't apply for a visa for me to stay as it wasnt long enough. So I returned home and we decided once she finished university she would come to the UK to live. I visited her many time when we apart. And in January 2012 she came to the UK. We lived together till November 2012 when she had to return to Australia for work. We talk everyday but decided to wait till January 2013 to apply for the defo visa as that would be the 12 month mark and it costs a lot. We have all the evidence, joint bank accounts, photos, statements the lot. But will the fact we only lived together for 11 months go against us to a point were the application maybe rejected?

    Thanks.
