  1. Normally in the email there is an attachment telling you how to respond, what subject to write and the email address to respond to.

If it is not there then you will have to write to the same email address, and in the subject write your TRN No, Name, DOB and the name of your case officer. Then repeat the application details on the top in the email text too.

  2. Ok so here's the stage i'm at:

    Vetasses Successful: July 2013

    IELTS: Listening 9.0, Reading 8.5, Writing 7.5, Speaking 9.0

EOI submitted: September 2013, 60 Points

Can anyone help me with what docs I will need to have ready, so far i have,

    Qualifications (certified copy)

    Copy of passport (certified copy)

    Letter from previous employer

    Letter from accountant (certified copy)

Will i need to submit any payslips or tax receipt and will they need to be certified copies..???

    Thanks

How old is your IELTS? Apply for a remark in writing, it takes 8 weeks and fair chances are that you will get the 0.5 marks increment to get an 8 each. Your EOI score can be updated then from 60 to 70, giving you better chances to get an invitation. Just a suggestion though as writing is subjective and I personally got a raise of 1 band in writing.

  3. The world cannot afford another war. The last resort should be surgical strikes, but if US invades into Syria then this can prove to be a catastrophe for the region.

Assad should just step down, how can he even sleep with so many deaths on his hands.

  4. Yes, it seems like another war is on the brinks or someone has his eyes on Syria's resources. Stage seems well set after a few investments.

As a wise man once said, "this world can never experience peace until there is profit in war".

  5. Great - thanks for clearing that up. Just my partner goes down by 5 points when he turns 33 and as he is ill at the moment I don't think we will get our application done by then. But, the extra 5 points can hopefully be made up by my occupation but if it was 65 we would have to look at getting work experience assessed etc which according to our agent is more complicated......

Who is going to be the primary applicant? You or your partner? Going down the partner points route for 5 points is not worth it if you have other options open. Try with IELTS if you have not considered it earlier in your marks.

Anyways, the passing mark is 60 for 189's and 190's - period.

  6. Sending the certified documents is a good option. I did the same, but sent the originals from my current employer.

There is a list of people whom you can get your docs certified from. I did it through a Doctor, she checked my originals and verified the copies. Solicitors charge per paper and it is costly if you around 100 papers

  7. How age points can be calculated, suppose 10th April, 1981 is my birth date so, 11th April 2013 will be calculated my age will be 32 or 33 under age group 25-32 or 33-39 as follows:

Age at time of application Points

    18-24 (inclusive) 25

    25-32 (inclusive) 30

    33-39 (inclusive) 25

    40-44 (inclusive) 15

    45-49 (inclusive) 0

This is a tricky one. I guess it should be between 25 to 32, but would like someone putting some light on it,.

  8. Can anyone guide me about what are the documents needs to submit like

    1. Transcript is mandatory or Markscards and degree is enough for education Qualification to assess?

    2. Markscards and or Degree are required for all education like Secondary, High School, Diploma, Under Graduate, Post Graduate

Do you have any documents other than transcript and degree?

Transcript and Degree for the highest qualification to be assessed and only degrees for the rest of them are enough.

  9. This time got an 8.5 in the listening, 8 in the reading, 7.5 in the writing and 9 in the speaking (I need all 8s). Im so upset and confused

Any ideas where I can find some good level 8 writing material to look at to get an idea. Also any tips!!????

"Remark" is the word. Try it for a change of luck.

  10. Friends, I screwed up the second IELTS also. I missed almost 5 questions in Listening and there are more than 5 which Im not sure of.

Reading the last passage was very tough :-( and I spent close to 30 minutes on that only.

No chance of getting the required band

I have registered for it again.

Can somebody help me with study materials. I have covered CAMBRIDGE IELTS series 1-8 two times, so that wont help.

Are there any free resources available, google didn't help much

You need to sit back, relax and realize what you did or are doing wrong.

While you prepare for the third attempt, I would suggest go for a re-mark in the first one also. You have many chances of a positive remark in writing as you only need 0.5 marks more.

Note that if you don't concentrate while they are playing the CD in the listening section, you will miss answers and if one section goes wrong, it will have impact on all other sections. You need to score 31, 32 to score 7 in listening and it is very easy if you know the pattern of the sections in terms of which section is going to be a dialogue and which a monologue.

For reading, I think I already suggested and if not, then attempt the reading test backwards. The last section is very tough and requires a great deal of concentration and time. Give it the maximum time and then work backwards. In reading you require minimum 35 or 36 correct answers to score 7 band. The first section is the easiest.

The writing and speaking are subjective and depends on your skills and ability to correctly write or communicate.

In my opinion you don't need to do Cambridge tests like crazy, in fact concentrate on the test patterns of the various Sections while preparation and how you loose or gain marks.

Leave your seat only after the test has been completed, and don't distract yourself for water breaks or other things. You will get through.

  11. Hi,

I have done IELTS for Four times and i got following results.

    1st attempt,

    L 7.5 , R 6 , W 6.5 , S 5.5

    2nd attempt,

    L 7 , R 7, W 6.5 , S 6

    3rd attempt,

    L 8 , R 6.5 , W 7 , S 6

    4th attempt,

    L 8.5 , R 7 , W 6 , S 7

My target is to get 7 for each components but always fell short. I really disappointed to see my last IELTS results where i got only 6 for writing. I never had any difficulty with my writing and was very confident about last writing test. It is huge surprise for me that i got only 6.

Can someone advise me on remarking my last test results? Is there any success stories with 6 band upgraded to 7 after remarking?

    Thanks

    Sam.

Judging from your post, your writing skills seem to be not that good to score 7. Grammar and spellings need to be spot on to score 7 and above.

I applied for a re-check on my writing and score was improved from 6.5 to 7.5, so if you are confident then do apply for a re-mark. They do improve sometimes.

  12. Hi

Does anyone know if there is restrictions in terms if adult to child ratio when flying to Australia?

We are looking into the 'possibility' of my husband flying out to Australia for a job. Myself and our 3 cherubs would need to follow 8 weeks or so later.

Kids ages 6, 4 and 18 month! I know........not an experience i would look forward to but if needs must and all that! Have looked on various websites and can't find anything which suggests that if i am mad enough to endure such a task then it would be ok......?!?!

    Thanks

    x

The rule is that every child below 2 years will be accompanied by a parent or someone, because the baby will be tied with your safety belt on your lap during take-off and landing.

Kids above 2 years have there own seats and it is not a issue. So you would do fine as you are travelling with your 18 months old.

This was a problem for us when our twins were under 2 years of age ;) and my wife could not travel alone. Now she has developed a habit and does not travel alone mostly :)

  13. Hi all

I got my results for the Academic IELTS today and i am so disappointed. I need 7's for ANMAC and got

8 L, 9 S, 7 W and 6.5 reading. Overall score of 7.5. I'm so frustrated that I need to sit the whole test again for the sake of 1/2 point. Can anybody tell me whether the overall score is relevant, I wasn't expecting an overall score.

Bad luck!! Reading is a bit tricky and specially the last section. I also scored very less in reading the first time I attempted. Then I realized my mistake and started the test backward and scored 7.5 in reading. You should give more time to the last sections, they require more attention.

  14. IELTS betrayed me!!

    I got 8 overall, L R and S(8.5, 8.5 and 8), but Writing betrayed me(6.5).

I need at least 7 in all section for applying 189 visa for australia.

    Im absolutley disheartened.

My preps were good. I did all the 8 volumes of Cambridge IELTS books.

    What will I do now?

Time and money I dont have much :-(

Try for a remark for writing, if you are confident. It takes around 8 weeks but if you are sure you did well then you might be successful in the remark as you need only 0.5 more marks. Note that writing is subjective and there are always chances.

I got mine writing remarked and it got increased from 6.5 to 7.5

Go for it if you have time or you have not got your skill assessment yet. Otherwise, you will to need to sit in another IELTS.
