Thanks all, appreciate the responses. I feel a lot better today, amazing what a lot of rest will do, also football training and being around some mates helped. Thanks for all the concern, I don't think it's at the doctors stage yet but it comes and goes. I have started putting a plan together in terms of going home regularly and also the long term plan for the future. That has had an immediate affect of making me feel like there's light at the end of the tunnell. Thanks again, and I'll try to make future posts of a lighter nature. Good to hear that others are in same boat (well not nice but sure you know what I mean) and my feelings are completely normal.

Thanks for the comments so far (and the hug). I'm in adelaide. The coming back to oz for school holidays has certainly been something I am considering. Would have to have a pretty good job though to be able to afford 4 flights a year as well about 10 weeks holiday. I have a plan for a job that would allow me to do that, but I think I'm 1-2 years away from being able to put it into fruition. When I do though I'll certainly let everyone know on here because you're my target consumers.

    Very homesick

I been over here for 11 years, when i moved over with an aussie wife. Since we have split up (several years ago) and I have shared care of my children. Recently I went back home for christmas with the children and had such good time. I went back twice in 2012. This time I have suffered what can only be described as depressive homsickness. I have even called in sick to work today as I couldn't face it as I felt so homesick. The issue I have is that if I was to go home then I would miss my children (11 & 8) so much. Thinking when they're older and don't need/want their Dad around all the time then I will go back. I've even been trying to think of a job that would require me to travel between the countries as a compromise. Maybe a quartely meeting attendance in London being required, but I know that's just a unrealistic pipe dream. Any thoughts?
