  1. Thanks guys. We have now located a VPN site called PommyTV which is only $5 for the first month. Seems to work well so far but good advice thanks on the streaming/downloading as even with good internet the picture is a bit 'broken' at times. I assume the first you know if a VPN/proxy server has become corrupted is when you find a virus on your PC so there is little we can do about it ? For those of you that have this on your laptops/pc/ipads have you found that you can buy a cable which will connect to be able to watch it then on your main TV whilst playing of the device? Feels so great to get access to British TV !!!! Thanks Mitzy
  2. Hi, Does anyone know how to set up a proxy IP address so you can watch BBC iplayer/C4 on demand etc ideally for free ? Have found some older posts online but they no longer seem to work. Thanks Mitzy
  3. Hi there, We are moving to Penrith in the next 3 weeks. My wife is pregnant with twins and we need to be in the viscinity of Nepean Hospital in Penrith for the delivery at the end of November. So we are looking for minimum term 1 month but potentially up to 6. Other than letting agents who we are in contact with anyway but progress is slow, does anyone have any recommendations for apartments or houses or websites that advertise them. We have looked at websites such as airbnb & wotif but nothing is within 30 mile radius of Penrith. Thanks A&K
  4. Hi, We are arriving in Sydney in September and will be looking to rent a 4 bed family home. Has anyone had any experience of looking for somewhere when they have a dog. Clearly less landlords would be open to pets than happy to accommodate them but whats been your experience ? Are we more than likely going to have to go down an unfurnished property route therefore and hire furniture short term until our container arrives ? Thanks for your thoughts Angie

  6. Hi folks, We are looking to move to Sydney from the UK in the next 3 months. We have our permanent residency visas (granted in 2012), ready and validated but our son who was born after they were granted now needs a child visa. We want to do this retrospectively i.e not wait in the UK for lodging the application, but come out to Sydney and do it there. Immigration have told us we would need to apply for a child visa subclass 802 once we are in Oz but have not been able to clarify what we can enter him into Oz on visa wise. Anyone any similar experience of this ? How long do you need whatever temporary visa to last based on how long does the child 802 visa generally take to be granted ? It took us 15 months to have our originally granted. Is there a simple way to navigate around this ? Thanks for your advice in anticipation, Angie
  7. Hi, My husband and I have state sponsorship for South Oz on my application. Technically we have to reside in the state that we lodged our application with for the first 2 years. We are due to move out in the next couple of months but jobs in either of our chosen fields do not seem to be forthcoming and we have been searching for the past 6 months particularly in Adelaide. Does anyone know what the rules are for transferring between states to live if you cannot get a job in the original state that sponsored you ? Obviously we don't want to contravene the immigration rules around the visa but with no jobs we'll be back living in the UK within 6 months of arriving. All advice very much welcome together with links to any official government websites that could clarify the rules. Thanks you. Mitzy
