Hi, I completed a GTP, which I know is not accepted in Australia. I have been teaching English for 6 years, am the Head of Media Studies and have a TLR point for whole school literacy. If I convert my GTP to an Aussie PGCE would I have to start from scratch and apply for NQT jobs? Bit confused at the moment :frown: Am grateful for any advice, Cheers x

Hiya, OH is having his quals assessed by Engineers Australia. As the complany he previously worked for has gone into liquidation he has been asked to provide a statutory declaration about his years there etc and a duty statement. Does the duty statement need to come from his employer or is it something he can do himself? Cant really find the answer through Google. Want to get moving on it asap Cheers

Were not really big city folk, which I think is my worry along with the weather Thanks for the link to the Victoria site; going to head over there and have a nosey. If Melbourne is the wrong place were only there for two years, and who knows, it might turn out to suit us down to the ground! xx

Hello, hope I am posting in the correct place! OH's job has been taken off the South Australia SS list, but it's still on the list for Victoria. We are hoping we can get into SA by tweaking his job slightly, but I think were grasping at straws. We have done quite a bit of research into Adelaide and it looks perfect for us. However, now Ive looked at Melbourne there seems a lot going on, but the weather isnt as good and Im not getting the feeling I got from Adelaide. I know its hard when your researching from a screen; I cant put my finger on what it is!? Basically, could you tell me if Melbourne has decent weather and if it's a decent place to bring up teenagers? I understand everyone's opinion is only completely valid to their set of circumstances etc, but any help with this would be great. Thanks x

Hello, we are a family of four from Cheshire. Husband is an engineer, I'm a secondary school teacher. We have a 15yr old daughter who is desperate for the beach life, and a young man of 11 who is a bit ambivalent to it all really. Hoping to move to Adelaide (if we can get in!) or Melbourne. Hi, we are hoping to move to Adelaide. OH is currently in the process of having his quals checked at Engineers Australia. He has applied for Engineering technologist, however, since we first started looking into making the move the job is no longer on the SS list. However, engineering draftsperson is. The qualifications for a draftsperson are lower than that for a technologist, so, could we apply under the role draftsperson if his certificate from EA states technologist? He is trained in both through a HNC. Technologist is on the SS list for Victoria, so its not game over if we can't, just we really had our heart set on Adelaide. Thanks very much
