I've just seen on the net that you can get a backpackers discount card, can't see much about it on the web but was wondering if any of you guys had heard/had one and is it actually worth looking into? Only 3 weeks to go =) Ash x

Hi Adam, I am also arriving in Australia around that time, i actually get into Sydney on the 12th. My plan is to work my way north up the east coast then be back in Melbourne by September cause i am moving on then ti New Zealand. Hope your plans are going well too. Not long now eh =) Ash x

Thanks guys! Yeah I did think of that, but as I plan on hitting NZ after I finish my time in Oz I might try it there. No I'm not bothered about working in my profession while I am over there so whatever I can get really. Hi everyone! Extremely new to this but could do with all the help I could get! So I am planning to go to Oz in February of next year, I have nothing booked as of yet but will have the flights very soon. I am looking to book a 7day arrival package in Sydney, to do a week of activities before I have to get down to working. I am wanting to stay for 6 months then travel elsewhere for a month or so, I have never done anything like this before let alone on my own. Advice on; The best routes to take, I want to hit a ski resort at some point on my travels too. I am a graphic designer/photographer and will be taking my DSLR camera with me, am I worrying to much about safety of my belongings and such when staying in hostels? I have seen on some sites that you have to be prepared with clothing and take different things for different jobs. Is this an over reaction or is it the best idea. Whatever else you guys want to throw at me I will be more than happy to hear =) Sorry for rambling... Ash xx
