    Csol 2013

Hi I am led to believe that the CSOL list is reviewed and published annually. Does anyone know when we should expect the 2013 list, Trying to figure out of I have time to get skills assessment etc done before the new list. Don't want to pay for skills assessment only for the new list to be released and occupation being taken off before ive received a positive result back and had time to lodge my application. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks
  2. Hi All Sorry if this is a silly question but are the occupation list reviewed and amended in July every year? As vetasses processing time seems to be taking for ever at the minute rather than wasting my money I thought I would wait until the lists are reviewed to make sure my occupation is still on there before applying to Vetasses (Project Administrator). Looking forward to your answers/comments Thanks
  3. Hi Adonna Thanks for your reply, that is encouraging to know, I have found out all my wage slips right back to the month I started and have all my P60'S also so proof I work there is not an issue, I suppose I was thinking that would not be proof enough, although it proves I work there who is to say i'm not just the cleaner?? My hubby says i'm perhaps just being a little anal but I don't want to screw it up, wanted to do this for so long now!!! Thanks again for the info at least I know its a definite option
  4. Hi Rupert, I have been toying with the idea but if the whole thing goes T**ts up I don't want to jepodise my current position and the MD if I am honest is a bit of a funny bugger! Im really going to have to give it some serious thought and maybe just bite the bullet...he who dares wins right?!
  5. Hi I have been working in my profession as Project Administrator for the past 9 1/2 years for the same company here in the UK. I am just in the process of gathering my evidence to submit to Vetasses for my skills assessment. I do not feel comfortable asking for a work reference for this purpose, I know it would not go down well if work knew of my plans. So I am thinking I am going to have to do the Statatory declaration, I know Vetasses states this is acceptable but surely it cannot carry the same weight as a reference from work, can it???? Also as I have only worked for this one company in the last 10 years it seems like a long time to be just covering with a stat dec!! Am I just worrying over nothing, don't want to get anything wrong as I don't have money to burn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially from any one who has been down the same path and used a stat dec for so many years work experience Thanks Claire
  6. Hi thanks for your response, when you say they came down to assess your skills....as in your place of work?? I am not in Australia but the UK so that would not be possible in my case, i have spoken with them and they have advised i have to send evidence via email just wondered if anyone else had experiance of this and what evidence to send...dont wnat to bombard them with lots of irrelvant spreadsheet etc Claire
  7. Hi Has anyone had any experiance with Recognised Prior learning? As my B-Tec is not equivelent to the AQF Diploma i was looking into doing a AQF Equivelent Diploma before applying to Vetasses to have my skills assessed. This would mean that i would have to work another year in my current position to meet Vetasses requirements. I had resigned myself to the fact that is what i would have to do. However after a little research i have discovered that the skills and experiance i already have could in fact gain me the diploma without any need for study (Just alot of hard work collating a portfolio of evidence) via Recognition of prior learning. I just wondered if anyone else had done this and how easy/difficult they found the process. I am a little daunted and quite frankly a little overwhelmed by the whole process and would really appreicate hearing from someone who has been down this route. It would be great to chat with someone who has already experianced this. Thanks
  8. Hi Blossom79 I would need 1 years post qualification experiance if it was in a highly relevant field to my occupation. I am looking at it this way even if my occupation has been removed from the list by the time i am able to apply for the skills assessment a higher qualification cannot do me any harm for my career prospects in the UK should it end up us having to say here. Im hoping it wont come to that but its the risk i am going to have to take. I am going to continue looking for sponsors whilst studying, its not the route we wanted to take but you do what you have to do to get where you want to be in life. It does say on the vetasses website that pre qulification experiance MAY be taken into account, i dont know how to go about clarifying that at the moment so i am working onthe notion i will have to continue in my current occupation for another year after gaining the qualification.
  9. Hi Just wondered if anyone has done an online TAFE course from the UK? Need to up my qualification for State Sponsorship and wondered if there was anyone on here that had done this already? Any info would be great Thanks
  10. Thanks for the response, i think i am going to get started on gaining the relevant qualification to enable me to go down the State Sponsorship route, as you say it is a big risk but fingers crossed will be worth it in the end. I wouldn't need to retrain so to speak as my occupation is on the list but i would need to gain the higher qualification. Just thought as i was studying i could continue looking for sponsors. Its not as if i have not had any responses i have had quite a few more than expected actually but basically it was a case of if you were already here we would give you a job in a shot, but i think alot of companies are scared off by the whole sponsoring thing. I know there is not a definitive list of companies willing to sponsor but was just wondering what avenues people have taken to find companies willing to sponsor? thanks for your replies
  11. Thanks for your reply, i am a Logistic Project administrator working for an International Exhibition Company a job i have had for 9 years
  12. After almost a year of applying for jobs and contacting about a billion Australian companies i have just about given up hope. I have looked down the route of State Sponsorship and thought we had it all sussed out and it turns out my UK qualification is not equivelent to the Qualification Vetasses require. Once again getting no where fast. My only way thorugh this is to go back to study and hope my occupation is still on the list when i have completed this. I heard back from Go Matilda this morning and they advised i either do the above and run the risk or get an employer sponsorship.....so back to square one. So my question is has anybody had any luck with the Employer Sponsorship route and if so how did you go about finding an employer to sponsor you as i am obviously doing something wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreicated
  13. I fear you are right Rupert, i feel my only options are 1. Go down the Sponsored route or 2. Get my AQF Diploma continue work in my current occupation for the 1 year and hope my occupation is still on the list when the time comes to get things moving. I can home study and really get stuck in every evening and weekends and get the course done in as little time as possible. I was thinking of doing the Diploma through TAFE, at least i am confident that this is the qualification they require rather than doing a UK course and runnign the risk that it does not meet Australian standards. I just feel like i am hitting a brick wall all the time. Now just need to pick the right course!!!! Thanks again. I'm keeping evreything crossed that we make it in the end.
  14. Thanks all for taking the time to reply. Coastie that is encouraging to hear. I have emailed a few agents this evening to try and figure out where i stand, fingers crossed they may be able to come up with a way around this. On the immi.gov website it does state that more than 3 years experiance can replace the official qualification but not sure how this works as you cannot get past Vetassas without it?? Hopefully i can get a bit of free advice from one of the Agents. Coastie which agent did you use? Rupert - the points for my age would not change. I am hoping that if i do take the route of doing the extra qualification my post experiance will count. Again thank you all for the info.
  15. Hi thanks for your replies. I will contact Go Matilda and see what they say. I know it is not the end of the world, but this is something we have been thinking about for such a long time now and finally thought we had it sussed. Just feel a little deflated and was hoping there was some one out there who had overcome a similar situation. There is always the 457 option to look at but really was hoping we would not have to go down that route. "Give up, Give in or Give it your all" i'm definatley going for the latter
