  1. Did you find out the information that you needed? I ve just received a positive response from my Vetassess. What are anyone's thoughts on other states opening up the doors for financial adviser and manager roles? I know at the moment only NSW are accepting potential applicants, when I started the process WA were looking for advisers. I know it's a case how long is a piece of string but what are your thoughts or what have you been told about how long realistically it will take to get a visa accepted. Excluding the Medicaid and any issues, I was looking for people thoughts?
  2. Hi exciled in Wales. I have recently qualified in the uk. My understanding is that we need to do the rg146 as the course covers Aus regs, superanuation. I ve been told it will take 10 months and about 1500 grand. There are loads of Aus based training companies that will cater for oversea applicants. How long ago did you start the visa process? I m going to start the rg146 once the visa has been ok. Keep in touch and let me know how you get on.
  3. Thanks for the info. Keep me updated on your progress and if your aware of any future changes I would really appreciate your updates. Thanks
  4. Hi, I believe the RG146 is 'Australia's' version of a financial planning exam needed to give advice. I have a financial planning diploma im the UK and when I enquired through various education boards in Aus, they told me that I needed rg146 to give any financial advice in Aus, maybe I m wrong? Google on the related websites for rg146 and it will give you more info.
  5. Hi gtaark, how did you find out about WA has reached it's capacity for Financial Advisers? We would of preferred NSW anyway but we were advised by our agent that WA has a shortfall?
  6. Hi, I am also applying for this role. I started 4 months ago and waiting to hear back from Vetassess. By the sounds of it, everything sounds positive going from your responses. The agency I am using is putting me through the 190 visa, heading to Perth. I have been told that I have 55 points, with the ielts results I should now have 65 and then hopefully go wait for the EOI. Are you guys looking to do the RG146 financial planning exam to operate in Aus?
  7. I thought that i would share our progress, we plan to move to Perth in March - June 2014. I have received my IELTS results this week and got 8.5 Speaking, 7 Listening, 8 Writing and 9 Speaking. As a tip, I would not worry too much about the tests. I think if you get the format right for the written exam, you should be fine. We only needed a 7+ in each, so we now have our 10 points needed. I am now waiting for the Vetassess return, which i was told takes up to 3 months and it has been 2 months already, so hopefully it will be soon, then we can move onto the next stage. I was wondering how many people are mentally preparing for the move already even though it is over a year away, where are we going live, costs, leaving friends and family etc and how to make new friends once in Perth.... I have constantly been looking and reading other threads, as i think it is a great help and just shows you that everyone else is in the same boat.
