  1. I still can't believe it but we got Kisha back this evening after not seeing her for 5 weeks! We brought her from Ireland to Holyhead to meet with Golden Arrow (who were great) on October 18th and she left Heathrow for Melbourne on October 22nd. Myself and our 2 children (husband was already here since Jan) went on November 3rd after I had to cancel our flight on Nov 1st as our daugther (11) got really sick the night before our flight which was more than likely all the emotions of saying goodbye. Kisha didn't cope very well in the beginning but the staff at Melbourne Quarantine were great. I rang them every couple of days and they always put me on to her carer Amy. She had Kisha out of her kennel 2 to 3 times a day and tried to spend a bit of time with her. She was very honest and told me how much weight she had lost but she did go over a little bit overweight so I didn't worry about that part. Over the weeks she started to settle. I used Kay Murphy of Premier Pet Transport to pick her up from Melbourne Quarantine and to arrange her flight to Adelaide. Well she was fantastic!!! Like if Kisha was her own dog. She texted me pictures of Kisha when she arrived at Quarantine to pick her up this afternoon, brought her out for a an hours walk before she went in to the airport, made sure she had a drink and stayed with her until it was time for her flight and she rang me in the meantime to keep me informed. She arrived in Adelaide at 6.30 this evening and when she came out of her crate she was soo confused. I couldn't believe it how much weight she actually lost but whe'll sort that out now she is back with us. We brought her back to her new home here in Mount Barker. She was very restless all evening but delighted to see us. As for now she is fast asleep beside me!!!!!!! Can't believe we are finally all back together again! Anita
  2. Thanks Spotswood, can't wait to get there!
  3. Hi Joandjon, Just spoke to the Quarantine station and it reminded me of your dog Satch! Kisha is doing a lot better since they moved her last week and she is eating again. They also have to take her out on to the grass every day as she won't do anything in her kennel. They called her a "sweetie". I feel a lot better now I know she is doing ok. 4 nights sleep and we'll be on our way!!!!
  4. I remember reading about your dog Satch when we started the whole process with Kisha. From that post I got a good feeling about Melbourne Quarantine. The girl on the phone asked me if I was going to Visit Kisha while she was there. When I told her that I was still in Ireland and that my husband is in Adelaide she told me that they would do their best to spend a bit of time with her.
  5. Hi Katie007 I think that the cost involved really depends on the size of the dog. Anita
  6. Hi Stovies, We used to have 2 Dalmations but our other one died suddenly last year, he was 12 and he was a gent. Because of loosing one we didn't want to leave Kisha behind even that we where worried about quarantine. I asked our vet for advise and he said 'she's a healthy dog so what's 30 days and she'll be able to spend to rest of her life with you'. Where do you live? Anita
  7. Just spoke to Melbourne Quarantine and Kisha is very scared and nervous. She hasn't eaten anything yet and just stays on her bed. They will move her today away from all the large dogs and closer to the office with more human contact. I hope she will be ok. 1 day over, 29 to go!! Anita
  8. Hi Happyviolet, I can't wait to see her again. I have been so worried about her all weekend as she wasn't coping very well at the start. I hope she will be ok during quarantine. Only 8 days and we'll be on our way, finally seeing my husband again and our children are mad to see their daddy. Then on November 23rd our family will be complete again after all these months when Kisha will join us.
  9. Hi my name is Anita and I can't believe that we will be finally arriving in Adelaide on November 2nd!! My husband has been working in SA since the end of January and next week myself and our 2 children Hannah 11 and Evan 3 (4 next month) will finally join him. We are moving over from Ireland and it has been a long wait. We will move to Mount Barker. Last Thursday I brought our dog Kisha a Dalmation over from Dublin to Hollyhead where I was met by Derek of Golden Arrow Shippers and he took her to their kennels where she was staying until yesterday. As Kisha is very attached to me she can be very nervous. Well I can only say that if anyone is thinking of sending their dog that all the people at Golden Arrow have been absolutely brilliant. I either rang them or they rang me everyday to tell me how she was. Both Chris and Steve were so helpful answering all the questions that I had Fissa who is looking after the dogs has been great, she doesn't tell you just what you want to hear but gives you an honest update on your dog. Kisha's flight has just landed and she's heading for Quarantine in Melbourne. I hope she will be ok and that the 30 days will fly for her and us!!
