  1. We used them I think their Nottingham branch?

I've measured all our stuff and it was well below 20m3. They came out had a look at it and said yes it's under 20m3.

They sent packing guys out who packed in stuff which I've told them not to pack. They told me to unpack it in 10 min of not they'll leave withouth all our belongings.

2 days later they rang saying its 30m3 so they need another 600 or so £.

After lots of delay and argument and 200£ extra it ended up in a warehouse somewhere waiting.

Collected from us on the 15th of August and arrived at our house in nsw on the 22nd of November.

  2. I had a friend who had a off road motorbike related shoulder injury. He went NHS and after few months and few visits they told him that they can't fix his shoulder and he can't do any sports with that shoulder. He decided to go private and when he got appointment at the same hospital he seen the very same doctor who told him that it's possible to fix it. He had surgery and he have the full use of his shoulder...

  3. For those in melbourne... I guess around frankston and then out west near point cook and whatnot... What sort of speeds do you get? I currently get around 100mbs from virgin (cabled) here in leicester but I've heard mixed things really and wasn't sure what to expect?

I'm missing that speed from the UK( Market Harborough) here I only get about 16-18Mbs through telstra adsl 2+.

  4. I am launching from home. A delivery service of prepared meals. Have a looknat dinner ladies in Sydney (google it).

For 100k equity you can buy a pretty respectable franchise as well - one of the Perth Poms has bought a dome cafe.

I was thinking about the same service with a slight twist here in NSW. What about certificates and licences for kitchen etc ?

Is it easy to get the green light from the authorities?

  5. It would be very unusual that your brake discs wear out on the rear at 30k unless you constantly driving in muddy conditions. Most likely that your rear brake calipers are partially seized or the hand brake is binding. And you will probably need a wind back tool to wind back the pistons in the rear calipers due to hand brake incorporated into rear calipers.

  6. I've shipped my cordless drill in the container. However also had hand tools shipped via parcelmonkey. I paid for 35 kg £160 but at the end the box was over 60kg and never got charged for the extra weight.

  7. I used to work on Mercedes trucks and then Vauxhall in the uk. But in the past 7 years worked on sweepers and floor cleaners. Now here in Aus working on tractors at the moment. But got a job offer from one of the sweeper companies in Sydney. Also interviews lined up for diesel/truck/plant mechanic.

Have a look at the TAFE courses as suggested by Pom Queen and don't give up. Just keep applying to jobs you think you could do :)

  8. Just be patient. I'm here in Sydney arrived September and had a job from day one. My wife arrived 5th if January and she applied probably 400 jobs at least. She is a CIMA/CPA management accountant. She just started in a pharmaceutical company yesterday.

I'm also applying for jobs since beginning of jam and just started to get reply and getting interviews lined up as want to change a job.

I'm a vehicle technician. So my advice don't give up and keep applying. Someone will give you a chance.

  9. Hi all

We currently live in Bowral but my wife secured a job at a pharmaceutical company in Minto and looks like I will have a job just around the corner from her work.

I just would like to know if any one get some experience living in the area or around and for day care for our 24 months old boy.

    Appreciate your help
