  1. Hi my agent tells me, once you have been granted your visa everyone on your application have 9-10 months to visit Australia to activate the visa. Once the visa is activated you have 5 years to completely move. This timeframe allows people to sell property etc. This applies to 189 and 190 visas!
  2. I am very thankful for all the help I have received from my agent and don't know what I would have done without him. The paperwork involved is astounding. Sorry I can't help with your query though! I was told my skills assessment wasn't worth the paper it was written on and is only part of the initial migration process. The real licensing begins once you land in Oz!
  3. Kev, I have used an agent for the whole process so far. Right from the start he really pushed for job references dating back to my first job where I started my apprenticeship. Luckily I had some nice bosses/managers that were really helpful. I had three references in total, I sent them to my agent, they were copied and checked by a solicitor. If it would help I could email a copy of them to you if you wish! Elliot
  4. Thanks, greensinperth you are exactly the person I needed to speak to! What should I do first when I land in Perth, and how did you get a job so quickly? I need to start work asap. Kind regards Elliot and family
  5. Sorry, I meant we have been invited to apply!
  6. We got our 189 visa accepted yesterday with 75 points!
  7. Hi JK2510, Thanks for your reply, I have NVQ Level 3 in complex Refrigeration and AirConditioning Systems, 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants, Level 3 Electricians Qualifications and 2391 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations and all the certificates to boot. I know I will have to do some sort of examinations and I am prepared to go out to Perth before the rest of the family. I am due to arrive in April 2013 so I want to be prepared, but can't seem to establish what is required in terms of licensing. I have contacted TRA but I am not able to apply until I have my visa in place. It's all so confusing! Kind regards
  8. Hi Kevin, I applied for a WA 190 visa on 8th October for me, the other half, and four children. I am waiting to be allocated a case officer. Do you know how we get our licences to work in a/c and refrigeration Regards Elliot & family
  9. I can't help with your query but I am also in the October 190 gang and it would be nice to track others progress. All the best Elliot and family
  10. Hi, just wondering if there are any A/C engineers going out to WA on state sponsorship?
  11. Wow! At least It gives us extra time to save. Where are you heading, and what is your occupation? Regards Elliot
