Hi guys, Me and the gaffer are from Huddersfild originally, moved to Adelaide when we first got to oz in 2008 then after 18 months went to BrisVegas and now finally settled on the Gold Coast. We found it very tough for the first couple of years missing family and lack of money but persistence has paid off and now we love it here. One thing we have noticed is that we have found it difficult to get a close circle of friends like we had in the uk, not sure why, may be folk don't get mi Yorkshire talk?! Alright, moved to oz a few years ago but only recently moved to the gold coast and im keen to make some new friends down here. Im originally from yorkshire and moved here with the misses in 2008. Just wondered if anyone fancied catching up for a beer sometime. I have made some good friends in bris and like to get out camping fishing drink etc but its a long way to go for fri/sat night drinks. Hi Kate, Me and my partner moved out to Oz after being together for just over a year initially on a working holiday visa which we had for 6 months before getting a 457. We hadn't lived together in the UK, and had no joint accounts, we just had holiday photos from two different trips, a statement from her mum and my mum and our rental agreement from living in Oz for 6 months together. I still have a copy of what I submitted so I'll double check tonight but ours went through no probs. I still don't know the colour of the misses toothbrush......white at a guess? Hope this helps. We got our permanency in March this year from after being on 457 and I don't think we had to provide anything relating to our relationship. Obviously if you've had a 457 for more than a year and you were De Facto on that then thats all immigration need.
