Thanks for the reply. we aren't using an agent as it seems expensive? I know we have to use TRA but theres a few routes to go through on their website which is where i'm gettin confused, theres an off shore route and a skilled migration route, both seem valid for a mechanic tho!?

Hi all, my partner and I are about to embark upon applying for a visa, we haven't done the EOI yet as we need his skills assessed. He is a motor mechanic and I was wondering if anyone has applied through TRA for the assessment. I am confused as to which form we need to fill out, the TRA skills assessment for migration or the offshore route? I've read through the various info on the TRA website and find it conflicting. we are hoping to apply for either a state nominated 190 visa or an independant skilled migrant visa. Any advice greatly appreciated as i emailed TRA and they just replied with info about 457 visas!!?? thanks in advance :tongue:
