  1. My wait finally ends here.... just got my visa grant notification:)

    My timeline below

    Visa Nomination - 09 Mar 2012

    Nomination Approved - 14 Aug 2012

    Visa Application - 15th Aug 2012 (NON-DRC, Field: IT)

    Visa Grant - 25th Mar 2013

No notification of CO allocated, Last email received last week advising applications from Aug 1st week are being allocated. Thought it would go beyond Easter, but email just came in. All of a sudden, my stress is all gone!!!!!!!!!

All the best to everyone of you out there.... enjoyed every thread reading them under stress and didn't realise that I would be the one posting it too soooooooooon:) (endless wait)

  2. My final timeline:

10 August 2012: applied, with medicals/police certificates/etc but without an MA

17 October 2012: received acknowledgement letter

6 March 2013: received email from my case officer requesting form 80 and certified copies (I had scanned all the original documents as discussed above)

March 12 2013: sumitted the requested documents

March 13 2013: received visa grant

With regard to the originals/certified copies issue, this is clearly a bit of anachronistic silliness which I imagine will disappear as the case officers get used to processing electronic applications. In any case, I didn't bother going to a JP but simply asked a colleague at the university where I work to certify my copies, since a full-time teacher is one of the occupations authorised to certify copies.

Also, how annoying is the question on form 80 that asks for the dates of every international trip in the past 10 years? For me it was over 40 trips, many with multiple countries.

Congrats TacoTruck!!!! Could you please post your Visa Stream and Industry (Eg Accountant, IT etc)

  3. I'm pleased to be able to let you all know that things are moving in the Parramatta office as we were granted our visa yesterday.

We went through the direct entry stream. The employer lodged their application the begging of Sept, we put our stuff in two days after that. We got an acknowledgment email for each part around mid October/early Nov. The heard nothing until the visa grant email came through. We were not made aware we had a case officer, and apart from the acknowledgment of a valid application we heard nothing in between submitting out visa and the grant.

We are a non-DRC application, however we submitted all the documents as per the DRC list.

Our application was done without an agent, so if there are any questions I can answer based on my experience with the process without an agent I am very happy to try and do that. The thing I can't comment on is anything to do with the skills assessment as this was not required due to being on the exempt list.

Hopefully other peoples are on their way soon!

    Congrats!!!!! Hope so

  5. Hi longwaitahead,

Did these other people happen to mention their submission dates? Cheers

Yeah, couple of them did.... see below, just copied some stuff over

  6. I am on the same boat as well, NON - DRC application, 7 weeks since I have received application acknowledgement, wait on for Case Officer allocation:) Just waiting for decision to take a good break, stacked up all my annual leaves for this:)

Good News for DRCs lodged Post July.... read on other blogs that applications are being allocated to COs and couple of then got PRs as well this week. Wishing things will move for NON DRCs as well:))))

  7. I have the same situation as Tickled Pink. and have beening wating for 2 and half months already. no idea when it will come to a result.

actually my plan is to get PR granted before taking an unpaid leave about 3 or 4 months. not sure if I can take it now without affecting the application..............strugling.........

I am on the same boat as well, NON - DRC application, 7 weeks since I have received application acknowledgement, wait on for Case Officer allocation:) Just waiting for decision to take a good break, stacked up all my annual leaves for this:)

  8. This is from the Auto Response email last week.

A system upgrade is scheduled for 23 November which will automate the processing of acknowledgement letters, bridging visas and the entry of applications into VEVO.

My assumption is, it will basically reduce the manual effort of keying applications into their system, I hope they can now focus on finalising applications:)

  9. I spoke with the DIAC today on the 131 number. The details given above are for the standard application i.e. lodged by a 'normal' person and not a Migration Consultant/Agent (MA).

I spoke with them and the timescales for my application which is a 186 ENS prepared and submitted by the MA and as DRC, with the Employee Nomination and the Application lodged.

At the moment when submitted online both by MA and a normal person its taking 4-6 weeks for the application to be 'picked' up in the process. At this point once 'picked up' an Acknowledgement Letter is sent out confirming the application has been lodged. At this point if its via a MA and DRC its treated differently then a normal application. A Case Officer (CO) is normally assigned within 10 days. The CO then apparently has 2 weeks in which to make a decision.

Is this everyone else's experience when using a MA with a DRC application?

    Thanks

    FlappyC

Yeah, my posts were all about Non - Drc applications. DRC ones are currently taking 8 -12 weeks I guess to get final decision.

  10. Hey, we are on the same boat. I received my visa app acknowledgement 3 weeks ago as well without CO details. As per the ack letter, my application is with Team 05 but still awaiting for allocation. I called DIAC last week and asked when will it be allocated but they just told me the standard response (5-7 months).

Oh ok, thanks for that. When was your Nomination lodged?. My nomination was lodged in March and took 5 months to get approval. So, I lodged my application in Aug and its been almost 3 months now.

  11. My employer has applied to sponsor me at 9 January 2012. Until now, he has not received any response from DIAC. Long time to wait!! The light at the end of tunnel ???

This is bit interesting, was that Nomination and Application lodged on 9th Jan?. Looking at the time frames above this post, you should have acknowledgement letters and CO assigned by now. If not follow up by giving a call to Dept directly.

  12. Hi mates,

I paid online applicaiton(ENS186) fee but could not get the receipt.(once I clicked on "view receipt" after payment, it came up a new tab indicating "loading......" upleft the conor but nothing turned up after 2 hrs).

    anyone got the same problem?

    cheers,

    Liu

Thats something to do with your browser. I have had same issues in the past. Probably use Chrome without blocking pop ups. Hope this helps.

  13. (Me, earlier on page 1 of post)

Ive still not got a CO allocated.

eVisa still just states application recieved.

    Paramatta office.

No idea if its done on first come, first served, but if so, ill let you know as soon as I get any change.

"Application received" status will never change, the system which we login will not get updated even after getting PR. I was told that they will manually keyin the data on to their system and you will receive email once submitted on machine. The evisa status will remain same forever.

  14. Hope this helps.... this was last update from Sep 3rd, I received from DIAC last week.

The following is provided as a general answer to this enquiry.
