Mid July. So not long now at all but still so much to organise.
-
A lot of visas being granted at the moment. Happy days.

Just got the email confirming my wife's partner visa subclass 100 has been granted today. Her application was received at Australia House on 2nd October 2012. That's 7 months to the day for processing. So glad it's come thru now and wife is over the moon .

OMG OMG OMG! Received our email today saying that my husband's visa has been approved. YAY! now to start planning the move back.
For everyone, still awaiting there's, I know the anxious feeling but rest assured to will come!
here are my stats for you,
24th Sep 2012: Application received at London office
26th Sep 2012: CO assigned
24th Jan 2013: Medicals and Police Checks sent
26th April 2013: Visa Granted
Goodluck everyone!
Hotspur1, who is your case officer? And had you sent any requests lately to see what was happening with the visa? We have been assigned a new CO just recently and they are still telling us 8 - 9 months and our application was only sent a week after yours.
-
Congrats on those who have recently had visas granted. Hopefully they'll start granting the ones received in October very soon.

Got confirmation from my CO PS mid Feb that my application should be finalised mid March. Found out today that PS left DIAC last Friday and that I will have to wait until Mid April for a new CO! SO annoying to be so close to a grant. Plus, I'm going back onshore 1st May, which would've been my initial entry as approved by PS, so not sure what's going to happen now
We also had PS and he sent us an email on 22nd March which included contact details of his team leader. I have PM'd you with these, might be worth contact him to see if it can get sorted earlier.

Hi all,
I applied for my offshore partner holiday visa last year in Aug - it was submitted and i was assigned a case officer on 03/08/12.
I have been in Australian for the past 3 months on a holiday visa but now i am back in the UK awaiting confirmation of my visa being approved.
Does anyone else have the case officer AB? He is very good at responding to communications and he emailed me yesterday saying that my visa should be finalised by the end of March - however he cannot give me a definite date - I just want to book my flight now and go back.
I read on other forums that the partner visa process can take up to 12 months though!! So am I slightly worried now that he is just saying things to make me happy! lol
The wait is excruciating and i've only been back in the UK just over a week!! haha.
Think March would be more than likely given your submission date. There have been a couple people on here who submitted around the same time and have been given dates in March. Appears to be taking around 7 months at the moment, we submitted in October and have been told 8-9 months processing time. Not sure where they would have got 12 months from.
-
We've also spoken to our CO recently and also told 8-9 months, so June or July for us.

Welcome!
Please understand that this next part of my post is not aimed at you at all, fantastic news for you and great that your wait is so short!
I am growing increasingly agitated now at seeing people who have applied further and further behind me but are being granted before me. Other applicants in late July was a tad annoying but handleable, applicants in August a little bit more so, and now we have a September applicant who will be granted in March when I have to wait until mid April! Of course this isn't the applicant's fault, but unless there are the Special Circumstances mentioned earlier in the thread, what can I do to expect the same treatment?
Of course with it being Australia Day today, Monday will be a public holiday and therefore no point whatsoever in trying to contact Australia House. But I'm starting to get frustrated having not seen my Fiancée since late October and before that since early September, to be told I have to wait until April when later applicants are going in February and March.
According to the website the public holiday was on Friday the 25th so you should be able to contact them tomorrow.

doesn't seem to be much granting this month gggggggrrrrrrrrrr...
How long have you been told for your visa?
-
I was talking about you and your wifes situation last night with my fiance. We decided that maybe its best to stick together. You guys are very strong to have been seperate for so many months!(3 seems like a lifetime for me!) Really hope you get your visa soon!xx
I'm looking at potentially going earlier than my wife and son if I can get a job out there. Not ideal and don't want to be apart but if it means getting a job and having that bit of extra security out there than will do it.
-
At what stage do you know you will be getting a visa for certain? When we applied they said don't quit jobs or book flights etc
until visa has been granted. Seems lots of people on here have booked flights and arranged to move before visa was granted. I'm sure we will be fine (married a long time and have children) but not getting it granted is always in the back of the mind.

Just posted the wifes 309/100 visa application. Here's to 9 months of waiting.

We are planning to move to Australia mid 2013 and are trying to convince my wifes parents to consider to also move out in a few years time. The contributory visa is probably the best way to go but is the amount of $45,000 ish for this visa per person or the cost for both of them?
Also if they came out to Australia on a holiday visa and then applied for an Aged Parent Visa (subclass 804) it looks like they could remain in Australia on a bridging visa until such time it was processed. Has anyone had experience of this?

We are just completing the application form for my wife's spouse visa. Is our son considered to be part of this application even though we are in the process of getting him Australian citizenship by decent and will then get him an Australian passport?
-
Those who have recently been lucky enough to get your visas granted....congratulations ! For those who are married/ have kids with an Aussie/ long time relationship.... Have you been granted permanent residency straight away or still the temp visa for 2 years?
I'd be interested to know this too

Hi All,
I'd be interested to get an update from some of you who have moved to Australia and your experiences in finding work in health and safety. I have a NEBOSH General Certificate and Fire Certificate and have been involved with health and safety in the UK for last 12 months, also doing quality management and some environmental management.
Our plan is to move to Brisbane in about 12 months time (no visa restrictions or owt as I'm an Australian passport holder).
Would it be worth doing a Certificate IV in OHS prior to moving out? Any advice from anyone who has been down this route would be much appreciated.

It is quick that. Given that you only applied a couple of weeks afterwards Tulip I'd be onto your CO asking for a visa grant before you fly on the 1st of July...or are they still saying it'll be 8-9 month grant time?
