no i have a two years bachlors, and i have a LLB degree that is for 3 years, i asked a lawyer about immigration on its basis and he said it wont be counted as bachlors recognized in Aus is for 4 years and either ways i dont full fill the requirement. can someone please provide me links to where they have written the qualification criteria for legal executive and solicitor

hello people, i would like to know what are the educational requirments to apply for australian immigration for the following posts. 1 solicitor 2 Legal Executive the thing is that Law degree is of bachlors and is for 3 years. so if a person has a 2 years bachlors of art degree and than a law degree of 3 years will that count as 5 years of bachlors or will be counted as 3 years of bachlors. and if that 3 years is according to australian standards. thanks

hello Loopylu, thanks for your reply. yeah i am looking to apply on basis of my police experience but i have recently been informed by my immigration lawyer here that although the POLICE OFFICER 441312 position is listed in the CSOL 2012 but none of the states are sponsoring this profession, and this implies to me directly as although i l get my qualifications and job experience to be successfully assessed by the VATASSESS but no state will sponsor me for immigration. so the entire exercise will be futile. and now my lawyer is looking at other prospects, maybe to apply on solicitor basis. now i have my doubts on his statement and information, as i checked the ceiling for POLICE OFFICER 441312 profession on http://www.immi.gov.au and it was stated to be 3000, the same number is also for solicitor. this question has been bothering me a lot, that if a position POLICE OFFICER 441312 is listed in CSOL, than that means that a person who fulfills the criteria of this position can apply, and should get immigration irrespective of the fact whether there are actual jobs available in that field or not, because this is the requirement for immigration not for the job. hence state sponsorship does not make any sense to me at all. if there are 3000 positions for this post than some state ought to be sponsoring the darn thing. i also found out that there is a recruitment drive taking place in WA, but i am late for it as it is happening this month, and yes i know Pakies and Indians tend to go for odd jobs and the reactions of the natives is predictable, i understand that and there sentiments. i checked the VATASSESS criteria for solicitor, and i saw that i l have to repeat few courses in order to make the ausies recognize my degree. i have no issues on that, i will also have to to a Graduate Diploma in law, after that i l be eligible to apply for any sort of work in legal profession and i can do a further LPC studies to come to equal footings of international standards. and yes pakistan is a common law country, we have the same procedures as we were under the british rule. i know this path is hard and difficult but its going to be worth it. i would love to live a free life.

hello friends, this is an interesting thread for me. i have similar circumstance as mentioned in the thread but i would still appreciate a direct advice from you all. i have done LLB from Pakistan in 2011. i have been employed in police department since 2002 and i have had considerable legal experience as i have been doing legal prosecution work in my service. i am looking for immigration prospects for Australia, on basis of my police experience and if that is not a viable option i am considering to go for further studies to Australia in the field of law. can you advise me on this on what would be a better option for me to apply for and also how can i make a future for myself in Australia as a lawyer. should i come on a student visa or apply for my immigration as a police officer.

hi guys, i am delighted to find this forum, simply because i have consulted various lawyers, consultants regarding my case for immigration to Australia and no one has got any hands on experience in dealing with my work experience. hence my search for truth has led me to this forum and am hoping that here someone will have any idea or suggestion regarding my problem or a reference to a lawyer who has dealt in such cases and knows what is required. my profile i am a 30 year old married male, i have been working in Police Department since 2002, i enrolled just after i passed my high school, that is in 2002, and i did my bachlors in 2006 and after that i did LLB degree in 2011. (while on job) my work experience consists of the following a. one year of police training course in 2004 b. operational work at police stations. (daily diaries, mobile duties, riot policing, raids, traps, etc.) c. investigative work (case building from scratch and sending it to prosecution). now i can write a descriptive note on all three above but i wont In year 2008 i was assigned to anti corruption establishment which had more of traps and raids, and legal executive kind of job requirements, where we after catching an alleged official will gather documents, proofs etc and send recommendations for his trial in court. this was pure legal sort of work hence while working in Anti Corruption Establishment i did my LLB as well. now that i have a decade of experience in police i saw in the CSOL that i can apply for Police Officer 441312, at least to my knowledge. since i am 30 years of age, i think i can secure around 7 or 8 score in Ielts. now the thing is, here in Pakistan Karachi, no lawyer or consultant has ever dealt in such case before. they have all sent IT professionals or Bank Managers etc. hence in this regard i have following questions if any one can answer them:- 1. what criteria is required for one to fulfill the requirement of Police Officer 441312? 2. what kinda documents should i send them as a proof of my employment? 3. that since this position is listed in CSOL that means that i can only apply for immigration on the basis of being a police officer, is it necessary for me to work in police department as well if i get the immigration? if yes than what is the requirement for that too? 4. if any one who has applied on this basis can let me know what documentation are required etc or have a chat would be great, maybe i l be able to explain myself better than. looking forward for a reply thanks
