Hi all, I got granted my visa (provisional 489) in August, but I've a mountain to climb financially before move. I think you can apply for residency after 2 years. Is that correct? This would allow me roughly another year for that process. Do I have to move sooner than June? I'm going to be renting my house out here so that would give me enough time to make it rentable! The last time I tried online ( I was 39 years of age, now I'm 40 I had to do ielts) the site kept kicking me out, hence my application was wrong. Has the site changed? Not too sure what to do at this moment!

Hi all, I've just received my results from ielts. I have been given an 7.5 for listening, 6.5 for reading, 7.5 for writing and 8.5 for speaking. I've been given an average band score of 7.5. Does this mean I qualify for 10 points or do I need a 7 in each topic. I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Hi all, I've been told to restart application process again. Apparently I clicked on overseas work, which I have never done. The website kept kicking me out and the only explanation I have is that it happened accidently. This was an honest mistake and I feel a very harsh decision has been made even though I still qualify. This has taken ten months to complete. I must now start again and now I'm 40 have lost another 5 points. I'm totally gutted.

I haven't got an Australian qualification. I haven't overclaimed. My points were awarded as aS the information provided. The points test gave me 65! I've a degree in construction and a city and guilds in stone masonry with a 3 year apprenticeship papers.

Hi all, I'm applying for the 489 sponsored visa. I scored 65 points and was told to progress further, which I did. Yesterday I received an email from my case officer saying he could only find 60 points. I find this unfair as so far I have spent lots of money on the initial payment plus medicals. Has anyone else had a similar situation. I don't know what to do to find more points, or where I've since been deducted them. Anyone's help would be appreciated.
