  1. Sorry to hear your bad news Craig! I feel the disparity between OZ/UK property professionals and our experience level is always going to be a problem due to the difference in cultures and lack of professional body governance. Hope the new plan works for you
  2. Resubmitted to Vetassess today in an effort to change my nominated occupation from Property Manager to Land Economist. Included further detail on my CV, and transcript from the APC (membership study for acceptance to the RICS), Certs and transcripts from MSc Real Estate and details of a recent directorship I have accepted. Fingers Crossed!!
  3. Hi mate, If you were to retake the IELTS test and score 8,8,8,8 or better, this would kick you up to 70 points...
  4. TBH I will probably go it alone. There is a reassessment fee and I will need to send a few additional documents - up-to-date payslips and an updated CV. But other than that I dont see there being much more to it.
  5. Im looking at having my skills assessment reassessed as I have previously been successful with the occupation of Property Manager (SOL 2 no longer on SS list). However following research it would seem that i was advised poorly by my agent and I should actually have applied for the higher level of Land Surveyor (SOL 1 Group A). I am about to approach Vetassess to reassess my skills for Land Economist. However I would be interested to hear if anyone has had their positive assessment Reassessed and it be successful too? OR are nominated occupations only changed in extenuating circumstances? Cheers
  6. Hi guys, Just wonder if anyone has come across this before - Im a Chartered Surveyor with a Bachelors Degree in Computing, Masters degree in Real Estate and a Membership to the Royal Institue of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). In addition I have 3yrs 8mths relevent experience. Im looking to apply for a Skilled independant visa under SOL 1 Land Economist which requires that I have a qualification which is at least at the level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation. As Masters Degrees in the UK tend to be essentially a 3-year degree rolled into one year it is widely accepted to study a Masters in a different subject to your undergraduate degree - there's no point studying the same content twice. However my agent is concerned that because my Masters is not underpinned by a Bachelors in the same subject, the assessment maybe unsuccessful. The content of my Masters matches the definition of 'Land Economist' perfectly, so I see it as highly relevent. I think the cucertainty comes in that a MSc in the UK is an 1-year course. If anyone has come across this before and/or has applied for a Sched.1 Group A occupation on the strength of a Masters Degree i would be very interested to hear your thoughts :xmas23:
  7. Morning guys, About 3 months ago I recieved the bad news from my agent that the quota for state sponsorship of Property Managers was full. My only other option is to relocate to Melbourne on a WHV and seek employment which will hopefully be followed by a sponsorship offer. I am a MRICS property professional (qualifying 2 years ago) with 4 yrs experience in asset management, property management and corporate property stratergy. I was just wondering if finding a commercial property job on a WHV is a pipedream or somthing that is widely accepted? I have already completed my IELTS and skills assessment so hopefully i get taken seriously. Im looking to continue my career and gain PR. Cheers Sam
  8. Thanks Lebourvellec, For anyone else finding the same issue with conflicting info on the web, I have been emailed the following by the Immi Dept: TRAVELLING TO AUSTRALIA AFTER WORKING HOLIDAY VISA CEASES Your Working Holiday visa was valid for 12 months and provided that you have not previously entered Australia on the visa, it will cease to be in effect 12 months after grant. After your Working Holiday visa ceases to be in effect, provided that you have not previously entered Australia on it, you may still be eligible to apply for another one at a later stage. It is important to understand that you will still be required to pay a visa application charge if you are eligible to lodge another application for a Working Holiday visa at a later stage. You must also continue to satisfy the eligibly requirements for lodgement of a new application, such as being between 18 and 30 years of age inclusive at the time of application.
  9. Hi guys, After preparing to submit my EOI and WA SS this month I was told yesterday that applications for my occupation are now closed. Suck, I know!:arghh: My Plan B is to head over on a WHV to find a job with sponsorship. Since my occupation is on the list and i have received a positive skills assessment and IELTS test I’m hoping to be eligible for direct entry on the ENS scheme. HOWEVER...at the beginning of 2011 I had a WHV but one thing led to another and i ended up cancelling my trip. I never enter Australia and as such never activated the visa. This has obviously now expired (Feb12). Do this mean that i am not eligible for another OR can I reapply??? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information
